<p>Our Class AA Sophomore All State Team, is huge. There are so many players to talk about we just kept adding names. Here is our group.</p>

<p><strong>Class AA – All Sophomore First Team</strong></p>
<p><strong>Gannon Ahrendt</strong> of Luverne (6’3 SF). Gannon had some huge scoring nights leading to his 23 point, 8 rebound a game average for Luverne who won 14 of 18 games. Ahrendt’s emergence along with a big group of seniors made Luverne a contender and a big surprising team this season.</p>
<p><strong>Quayvant Douglas</strong> of Brooklyn Center (6’0 SG). One of the most talented players in Class AA hoops, Douglas led Class AA hoops in scoring as far as sophomores go with his 28 points a game.</p>
<p>[player_tooltip player_id="962212" first="Boden" last="Kapke"] of Holy Family (6’10 C). The most unstoppable underclassmen big in Class AA basketball was [player_tooltip player_id="962212" first="Boden" last="Kapke"]. The Fire made it to the section final with Kape scoring 16/17 a game inside while also averaging nearly a double-double.</p>
<p>[player_tooltip player_id="962228" first="Owen" last="Leach"] of DGF (6’5 SF). The best player sophomore in Region 7 was one of the most productive players on this list and that’s [player_tooltip player_id="962228" first="Owen" last="Leach"]. Leach is a combo forward that scored 23 points a game.</p>
<p>[player_tooltip player_id="962222" first="Jessye" last="Lewis Jr"] of Hiawatha Collegiate (6’1 PG). Lewis led his team to a 78 point per game season scoring 21 points a game and averaging another 6-7 assists a contest. Lewis is one of the tougher players to stop off the bounce in Class AA hoops.</p>
<p><strong>Mason Schimer</strong> of Maple River (6’0 PG). One of the more complete young players in Class AA basketball is Mason Schimer. Mason was a first team all league player averaging 12 points and six assists a game for a team that went 18-2 on the year.</p>

<p><strong>Class AA – All Sophomore Second Team</strong></p>
<p>[player_tooltip player_id="962237" first="Trent" last="Gomez"] of Two Harbors (5’11 PG). Teams needed a lot of support for the main defender trying to slow Gomez. Has 21 points a game led Two Harbors to a 13-7 season.</p>
<p><strong>Ryan Heise</strong> of Lake City (6’6 SF). Heise was just starting to show his two way potential in a big wing frame before he got hurt. Was scoring 11 points a contest and emerging as a top defender for an 13-6 squad but then was lost for the season.</p>
<p>[player_tooltip player_id="962249" first="Eli" last="Laposky"] of Pequot Lakes (6’1 PG). Pequot Lakes had a great season winning 18 of 21 games and playing in the section final. The 11-12 points a game from Laposky was one of the main reasons for the run.</p>
<p>[player_tooltip player_id="962236" first="Bailey" last="McDonald"] of Maranatha Christian (6’2 SG). McDonald led the young Mustangs in scoring at 12 a game. McDonald’s playmaking was a big reason MCA went 12-6.</p>
<p>[player_tooltip player_id="962224" first="Will" last="Opsahl"] of Goodhue (6’5 PG). A guard with great size and skills who can play several spots. Will averaged 14 points a game for an 11-9 team.</p>

<p><strong>Class AA – All Sophomore Third Team</strong></p>
<p><strong>Cuinn Berger</strong> of Esko (6’1). Berger surprised many by how quickly he matured and earned his role for a 13-6 team. Good year and a bright spot for a program that may slip a bit but never falls.</p>
<p>[player_tooltip player_id="962239" first="AJ" last="Greene"] of Concordia Academy (6’1 PG). The Beacons had a tough season but [player_tooltip player_id="962239" first="AJ" last="Greene"] gave it everything he had scoring 20 plus points per game throughout his sophomore year.</p>
<p>[player_tooltip player_id="962260" first="Carter" last="Mavec"] of Eveleth-Gilbert (6’2 SG). Two years ago the Golden Bears went 1-26. Now, with some young talent like Carter leading the way scoring 16 a game (he pairs with fellow sophomore AJ Roen nicely), E-G had a 12-6 year and there is hope.</p>
<p><strong>John Mueller</strong> of Watertown-Mayer (6’4 SF). It was a good year for the Royals and they were a .500 level club led by some young players. Mueller was one of those young talents scoring 17 points a game.</p>
<p><strong>Elliot Pribbebow</strong> of Fergus Falls (6’2 SG). The Otters leaned on Elliott for more and more production every game and he played his role well scoring six a game for a state semi-finalist.</p>

<p><strong>Class AA – All Sophomore Fourth Team</strong></p>
<p><strong>Brycen Christensen</strong> of New London-Spicer (6’1). The Wildcat playmaker led his team in scoring (13 points per game), rebounding (7), assists (3), and shot 37 percent at the arc.</p>
<p><strong>Thane Meiners</strong> of Caledonia (5’11 PG). Scored six per game off the bench for the state runner-up.</p>
<p><strong>Micah Thompson</strong> of Perham (6’4 Guard). Thompson is a skilled guard that we think could take off here very scored eight game and is a big part of the Perham future along with Soren Anderson.Will Walker of Breck (6’1 PG). The Breck playmaker scored 11.6 and his team went 9-0 on the year.</p>
<p><strong>Will Walker</strong> of Breck (6’1 PG). The Breck playmaker scored 11.6 and his team went 9-0 on the year.</p>
<p><strong>Zack Wells</strong> of LCWM (6’1 SG). LCWM improved from 17 games under .500 last year to three games under .500 this year and Wells scoring 16 a game led the way.</p>

<p><strong>Class AA – All Sophomore Fifth Team</strong></p>
<p><strong>Romelle Belle</strong> of Hiawatha Collegiate (6’2 SF). Belle scored 15 points a game for Hiawatha who went 10-7 this year.</p>
<p>[player_tooltip player_id="962244" first="Matthew" last="Bluford"] of Maranatha Christian Academy (5’10 PG). Bluford averaged ten a game for the 12-6 Mustangs.</p>
<p>[player_tooltip player_id="962296" first="Peyton" last="Hunt"] of Milaca (6’3 SG). Scored 17 points a game for Milaca.</p>
<p>[player_tooltip player_id="962311" first="Isaiah" last="Schultz"] of Staples-Motley (5’10 PG). The Cards struggled once again but Schultz gave the team hope with 16 points a game.</p>
<p>[player_tooltip player_id="962259" first="Carter" last="Todd"] of La Crescent (6’3 SF). Carter is a part of the emerging young Lancers group that won ten of 18 games. Averaged 11 points a contest.</p>
