The class of 2021 rankings has been updated, and there is plenty of movement throughout the entire list. We added the most players that we have ever had and did our most thorough observations to choose what we deem to be our most thought-out rankings yet. This season was a bit different as it was condensed, so we took summer ball and mixed it with what we were able to see throughout the season as well. Here’s who we have as the top wings in the class and why.

[player_tooltip player_id="916953" first="Ty" last="Robinson"] – Eaglecrest

Robinson came into Eaglecrest his freshman year with high expectations and a top prospect in both football and basketball. He has held down a Top-10 spot in the rankings throughout his entire tenure and kept the entertainment and winning ways for Eaglecrest for his career and steadily got better over the years. Robinson is an athletically gifted athlete that plays above the rim and has had some rim-rocking finishes that has ended up on SportsCenter and more. He is an All-State caliber player that competes at a high level, and his all-around game has made it so that opposing teams have difficulty trying to figure out how to contain him. Robinson is dangerous in the open court and also lights it up from deep. He also is a lock-down defender that takes his matchup personally. His senior season is where he was handed the keys offensively, and he delivered. On a talented frontcourt with size, the 6’5 DI athlete feasted. Robinson averaged 16.7 points and 3.5 rebounds a game. Robinson did not settle with only outside shots, got inside and banged, and gave his team a chance to win nightly. He will play football in-state at the University of Colorado next season but is a player that garnered DI interest and ended his playing career as a 2nd-Team All-State member. He finishes at No. 9 in the state.

[player_tooltip player_id="965744" first="Blakeley" last="Stoughton"] – Regis

Stoughton is a player that made one of the biggest jumps in the state in our rankings and sits at No. 11 on our list. Stoughton has a smooth game and is a naturally gifted scorer that finds a way to put the ball in the basket. Stoughton put up 17.4 points and 5.3 rebounds a game against stiff competition. Stoughton was the Raider’s best player this season and led them to a 14-2 overall record with his ability to score from anywhere on the floor. Stoughton is a knockdown shooter that excels in pick and pop situations and shot the 3-ball at a 45% clip from deep. He knocks down the mid-range jumper, shoots off of the dribble, and when defenses tried to limit his airway, gets to the basket and finishes at the rim. Stoughton had highlights dunks at the rim and put up double figures in every game this year. Stoughton showed up in the playoffs and helped his team pick up a few wins along the way. He finishes his high school career as the No. 11 player in the class and is an unsigned senior that I would be calling on quickly if I were a school looking for wing depth.

[player_tooltip player_id="770447" first="Greyson" last="Carter"] – Fairview

Carter is the definition of consistency and was a force for the last three years. Carter scored 1,000 points in his career in only three seasons, and the way that he got it done is what stands out most for me. Carter allows the game to come to him and is fluid in running the offense. He sets hard screens and rolls with a purpose, forces switches, and mismatches on the post as he uses his 6’4 frame. He also can space the floor with his 3-point shot, although his senior year was about dominating in the post. Carter was the Front Range Player of the Year as the wing/forward averaged an incredible 21.4 points and 9.2 rebounds a game. Fairview went 12-4 on the season in which Carter scored 20 points or more in 10 games and always was an offensive weapon who was an excellent positional rebounder that had his team in it. Carter will play baseball at Vanderbilt at the next level but had a stellar high school career and led his team to plenty of victories. He comes in at No.14 in the class and is a player that could’ve easily played basketball at the next level.

[player_tooltip player_id="916959" first="Jordan" last="Whitaker"] – Smoky Hill

Whitaker is a player that took a leap this past year with the new opportunities given to him and helped lead his team to victories this season. The Buffaloes were the most entertaining team in the state for another year as they play a fast-paced brand of basketball and force opposing teams to speed up the tempo. That allowed Whitaker to get out and running, and opposing teams could not slow him down. Whitaker is a player that has been on varsity since his sophomore season and has continued to see his game develop. He has gone from an off-the-ball standout and situational player to being the offense’s focal point and standing out. Whitaker went from averaging 7.4 points a game and a player that starred in his role to making the switch to the main guy and saw his game elevate to levels that many believed to be unreachable. He averaged 19.1 points a game in his senior year as a crafty finisher that can get loose in the open court and finish at or above the rim as well as consistently knocking down the 3-ball. Whitaker’s ability to shoot the 3-ball and lock in defensively will make him a 3&D guy at the next level and a player that can help shift a program around. A solid year for him as he jumps from No. 33 to the No.20 spot in our latest ranking.

[player_tooltip player_id="770417" first="Eddie" last="McPhee"] – George Washington

The Patriots are a team that went on a deep playoff run before falling in the playoffs due to their senior leadership and versatility. One of their most versatile players on the year is 6’6 wing [player_tooltip player_id="770417" first="Eddie" last="McPhee"], whose size and athleticism creates mismatches for opposing teams. McPhee put up 10.3 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 2.2 steals a game. He’s a wing with a college-ready body that does not have the ball or score to be effective. He makes high IQ plays and reads and fills the lanes correctly and makes it so that opposing teams had to guess how to defend the Patriots. McPhee runs the baseline, catches it on the wing for a corner 3, and also is a deadly mid-range shooter. He scores in bunches and occasionally gets inside for a high-intensity flush. When he is in attack mode, he is at his best and, in the playoffs, saw his game reach a new level. McPhee averaged 12 points a game in that push and showcased himself as a switchable defender. His size causes chaos, and his team rallied behind him. McPhee was named as a 1st-Team All-State member after his team’s championship run. His potential is through the roof, and once he realizes that, he is going to be a player that helps out a program at the next level. He comes in at the No. 25 player in the state.
