Over the course of the next two weeks, the Prep Hoops Iowa team will be flooding you with content previewing and covering the State Tournament. Here we take a look at 15 standout players to keep an eye on during the Class 4A State Tournament.

[player_tooltip player_id="796127" first="Landon" last="Wolf"], Cedar Falls (2021)

An elite shooter, Wolf is a 6-5 wing who leads the Tigers in scoring at 17.5 points a game while shooting 47.4% from behind the arc. Armed with limitless range, a smooth stroke and a quick release, he's capable of putting up 15 points in any given quarter. He has committed to play his college ball at Northern Iowa.

[player_tooltip player_id="796099" first="Chase" last="Courbat"], Cedar Falls (2021)

Another Tiger who is headed to Northern Iowa, the 6-10 center is a mobile big who made his name known as one of the best defensive big men in the Midwest. His offensive game is developing nicely as well, showcasing great hands, good footwork and touch. He's averaging 11.1 points, 8.3 rebounds and 1.8 blocks a game, and his defensive versatility is huge for this group.

[player_tooltip player_id="682265" first="Trey" last="Campbell"], Cedar Falls (2022)

A lightning-quick lead guard, Campbell is a fantastic athlete who has really taken his game to the next level this year. A 6-4 guard with great length and athleticism, he's averaging 14.4 points, 5.3 assists, and 2.5 steals on 55-41-80 shooting splits. He recently picked up an offer from Northern Iowa.

[player_tooltip player_id="727862" first="Tucker" last="DeVries"], Waukee (2021)

DeVries is one of the best shooters in the state, knocking down 46.8% of his 3-point attempts, and these are not easy shots that he's making with regularity. A 6-7 guard with limitless range, he's one of the best tough shot makers I've seen in my time at PHIA. The future Drake Bulldog is averaging 19.2 points, 6.9 rebounds, 6.2 assists, and 3.2 steals a game with 51-47-72 shooting splits.

[player_tooltip player_id="727863" first="Payton" last="Sandfort"], Waukee (2021)

Sandfort is headed to play his college ball at Iowa. An extremely high IQ player, he's remarkably efficient, with 57-47-95 shooting splits en route to averaging 17.1 points, 7.9 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 1.5 steals, and 1.1 blocks. He has a silky smooth stroke, moves well off the ball and is an excellent defender.

[player_tooltip player_id="956447" first="Omaha" last="Biliew"], Waukee (2023)

Biliew is averaging 10.7 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 3.3 blocks for the Warriors after transferring over from Dowling. One of the top five players nationally in the 2023 class, his ability to impact the game on both ends of the floor with his athleticism, length and skill will be on full display next week.

[caption id="attachment_1032394" align="alignright" width="300"] Photo: Alex Conover Prep Hoops[/caption]
[player_tooltip player_id="682279" first="Tamin" last="Lipsey"], Ames (2022)

Lipsey had emerged as one of the country's top 2022 prospects during his freshman year, but missed all of last year after suffering a torn ACL. He's back in a big way, showing why he's such a coveted prospect with his ability to change the games on both ends of the floor. He's averaging 16.9 points, 4.4 rebounds, 4.9 assists, and 1.8 steals a game for the Little Cyclones. A big, physical and quick guard, he's a great on-ball defender and an efficient scorer.

[player_tooltip player_id="682266" first="Josh" last="Dix"], Council Bluffs Lincoln (2022)

Dix has established himself as one of the most talented players in Iowa's 2022 class, and he's got a handful of mid-major offers to prove it. A talented 6-5 guard, he has a tremendous feel for the game, and knows when to take over or when to get his teammates involved. He's posting 55-38-73 shooting splits while averaging 19.4 points, 7.2 rebounds, 4.3 assists, 2.5 steals, and 1.3 blocks a game. He's got a really smooth all-around game, making everything look effortless.

[player_tooltip player_id="796103" first="Ryan" last="Riggs"], Dowling Catholic (2021)

Riggs is a 6-8 big man who is extremely mobile and he uses that mobility to his advantage on both ends of the floor. He has good footwork and hands, great touch around the rim and finishes above the rim routinely. He's averaging 15.3 points and 6.3 rebounds on 65% shooting.

[player_tooltip player_id="964878" first="Matt" last="Riedl"], Dowling Catholic (2022)

Riedl has had a strong year for the Maroons, emerging as a solid scorer and a great playmaker. The 6-2 wing is averaging 12.6 points, 5.4 rebounds, 5.2 assists, and 2.0 steals a game. He's not much of a shooting threat, but he's excellent at getting to the rim for finishes.

[player_tooltip player_id="796107" first="Reid" last="Grant"], Johnston (2021)

Headed to play college ball at North Dakota, Grant, a 6-2 senior guard leads the Dragons in scoring (14.0) and assists (3.9). He's a gritty player who makes his teammates better on both ends of the floor and is always willing to do the little things to win games. He's shooting over 50% from behind the arc this season, as he's taken his offensive game to another level.

[player_tooltip player_id="784982" first="Steven" last="Kramer"], Johnston (2022)

Kramer enjoyed a big summer with Kingdom Hoops and carried that momentum into his junior year, putting together a strong season, averaging 11.9 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 2.9 assists. A long, athletic 6-5 wing, he's versatile on both ends of the floor and thrives on making his teammates better.

[player_tooltip player_id="682278" first="Trey" last="Lewis"], Johnston (2022)

Lewis, a 5-10 junior guard, is a skilled ball-handler and one of the best shooters in the state. He shoots it well both off the dribble and the catch, and he moves well off the ball to find spaces in the defense. He's averaging 12.9 points and shooting just under 39% from the arc.

[player_tooltip player_id="727880" first="Jacob" last="Townsend"], Pleasant Valley (2021)

A 6-4 senior wing, Townsend has been excellent on both ends of the floor for a great defensive PV team this year. A highly efficient scorer, he's averaging 12.7 points and 5.6 rebounds on 61.6% shooting, and has the ability to score from all three levels.

[player_tooltip player_id="964846" first="Jim" last="Bonifas"], Senior (2021)

The 6-6 big man will play offensive line at Iowa State, but he's putting together a fantastic senior season on the hardwood, averaging 12.2 points and 6.5 rebounds a game on 58% from the floor. He's a mobile big who can defend multiple positions, has good footwork and great hands on the block.
