Park Center earned an energetic 77-60 victory over Totino-Grace this evening led by big games from [player_tooltip player_id="958729" first="Ayouba" last="Berthe"] and [player_tooltip player_id="850710" first="Braeden" last="Carrington"]. Here are the top ten players of the game.

The Pirates of PC came out of this game stronger and shinier than the golden earrings of their mascot at mid-court. It was a big win full of energetic performances from all five guys on the court. Who were the best ten players on the court tonight? Here are my rankings for the evening:

(1). [player_tooltip player_id="958729" first="Ayouba" last="Berthe"] of Park Center. 18 points, 13 rebounds, 4 assists (8-14 fg). The 6-foot-5 junior is a great example of why Park Center won this game. The Pirates earned the lion’s share of the 50-50 balls in this game an it was often Berthe that battled to them. His infectious energy with a putback, a defensive rotation, or a cut when his defender was ball watching led to a huge night. Berthe continues to climb the ladder of 2022 prospects.

(2). [player_tooltip player_id="850710" first="Braeden" last="Carrington"] of Park Center. 20 points, 11 rebounds, 7 assists (7-13fg). Another big performance from Carrington in a big game situation. Carrington’s 7-0 run in the second half - three-pointer, foul shots, pull-up jumper - was crucial to the Pirates expanding their lead to double digits as well as surging their momentum. Carrington handled the ball for his team, knocked out four threes, collected 11 boards, and moved the ball to cutters and open shooters for 7 assists. Continues to do so much for his team.

(3). [player_tooltip player_id="962199" first="CJ" last="O’Hara"] of Totino-Grace. 14 points, 11 rebounds (4-11fg, 6-8ft). In what became a really tough night for the Eagles, I thought O’Hara was one guy that consistently gave his team hope. O’Hara turned players on defense and often forced guys to pass the ball out, he got after the class with 11 boards (several on the offensive end), and he got to the rim for his 14 points. O’Hara has been the most reliable two-way player for the Eagles in the four games I have looked at the last two months.

(4). Demarion Watson of Totino-Grace. 15 points, 6 rebounds (7-15fg). I’ve said it before and I will see it many times again, Demarion has the most potential of any player in this 2022 class. His skill level at 6-foot-8 is a rare commodity that the best high major programs look for, and eventually professional teams look for if the player becomes consistent enough over time. Watson has a beautiful jumper and he continues to expand the ways in which he is able to get that jumper off in balanced, higher percentage ways. His length makes him a defensive concern for the opposition plus his agility lifts his ceiling when it comes to defensive potential and space creation in every possible offensive way.

(5). [player_tooltip player_id="1143878" first="Leo" last="Torbor"] of Park Center. 6 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists (3 of 7fg). Some may be surprised at where I have Leo on this list but I thought his energy was crucial to the Pirates win. The ball pressure, the quick board collection to the push the other way, and defensive activity were important. He had a monster dunk that had fans exploding to their feet.

(6). [player_tooltip player_id="774828" first="James" last="Parker"] of Park Center. 9 points, 4 rebounds (4 of 6fg). Park Center earned the early lead and Parker was the catalyst. Two scores in the post using that soft touch off the post move as well as a couple nice passes out of the post. He had four first half scores and a couple charge takes. Parker set the tone early and his teammates followed.

(7). [player_tooltip player_id="962198" first="Taison" last="Chatman"] of Totino-Grace. 15 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists (6-15fg, 3-7ft). Chatman had a few highlight moments including a steal and facial dunk the other way that will rank as the top highlight when the video guys get their films ready tomorrow. Not one of his better games this season as Chatman had foul line troubles plus came up short on a couple shots he would like to have back but Chatman still had 15 on one of his not so good games. The top sophomore prospect in the state.

(8). [player_tooltip player_id="836689" first="Jalen" last="Cook"] of Park Center. 13 points (4 of 10fg, 4-6ft) Down the stretch Cook was important to expanding the late lead. He made a three, knocked out some foul shots, and scored at the cup keeping the leading at double digits.

(9). [player_tooltip player_id="774885" first="Dawson" last="Rudolph"] of Park Center. 9 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists (3 of 8fg). After a quiet first half Rudolph hit two threes in the second half, led a couple teammates with good passes for scores, and took a big charge late. So much energy and passion for his team.

(10). [player_tooltip player_id="532558" first="Devin" last="Burger"] of Totino-Grace. 7 points (3 of 7fg). Burger is a smart position defender who works to his spots consistently. He hit a three tonight and scored two active buckets for the Eagles.
