Who were the Tuesday Night standouts across the great state of Minnesota? Prep Hoops runs down the Elite performers of the evening.

The cast came off and the hot hand of [player_tooltip player_id="850710" first="Braeden" last="Carrington"] – junior from Park Center – is going off. Carrington led the Pirates to a big win over Spring Lake Park last night 79-68 and it was Carrington scored 32 of his team’s points. Last week against Totino-Grace, the Pirates lost 81-87 but Carrington kept the game close scoring 31. The 2020-21 calendar year has been great to Carrington who has completely taken off as a playmaker in addition to being a shooter.

Sixth ranked North Woods improved 6-1 last night with a 78-68 win over International Falls. Leading the way for the Grizzlies was junior guard [player_tooltip player_id="958846" first="TJ" last="Chiabotti"]. TJ scored 35 points last night boosting his season average to 27 points a game. Also averaging seven boards, five steals, and 4.5 assists each night.

Cass Lake-Bena defeated rival Red Lake 88-67 improving to 6-2 on the year. The Panthers were led by the 32 points from junior [player_tooltip player_id="958847" first="Leroy" last="Fairbanks IV"] and are now hoping to push back into those Class A top ten rankings. Cass-Lake Bena is the only team that has pushed Nevis from start to finish (four point game) this season.

Sleepy Eye 6-foot-7 [player_tooltip player_id="957217" first="Kegan" last="Heiderscheidt"] – a Southwest Minnesota State signed player – will never say it because he’s too good of a young man but he has to carry his team in a lot of ways. Last night Kegan scored 37 of his team’s 53 points in a one score loss to G-F-W. Kegan not only scored 70 percent of his team’s points but he also grabbed nine boards, handled the ball a lot, and scored inside and out.

The balanced Andover attack improved to 6-2 on the year knocking off Osseo 70-64. Sophomore [player_tooltip player_id="962246" first="Ben" last="Kopetzki"] led the way with 21 points. Ben and fellow sophomore Sam Musungu continue to lead a balanced Andover team that put together a big one for their program. Next up tomorrow? Park Center.

One of the best surprises of this season has been the Northland Eagles from a 13-14 team to a 7-2 squad with wins over North Woods, Deer River, and last night, Littlefork-Big Falls. Five-foot-9 sophomore playmaker [player_tooltip player_id="962322" first="Alec" last="Wake"] topped the 1,000 point barrier for his career last night with 30 points in the victory.

Richfield wins games with balance and that was the case again last night when they defeated DeLaSalle. [player_tooltip player_id="774836" first="Lamar" last="Grayson"] continued his spectacular year with some clutch shots late and [player_tooltip player_id="774779" first="Ryan" last="Miles"] had 20. The man of the night though was 6-foot-6 post [player_tooltip player_id="958660" first="Jaden" last="Wollmuth"]. The 2022 Spartan power forward just gets better and better every night out. Last night may have been his landmark performance scoring 24 points in a game between top five Class AAA teams.

[player_tooltip player_id="962200" first="Jack" last="Janicki"] of White Bear Lake may have had the performance of the night but we hope to dive into that later today in The Rundown.
