Week 11 is underway and we have got a big slate of high school hoops going on this week in Indiana. This season is going to be full of uncertainty, but let us dive on in and take a look at some highlights of Saturday’s night of hoops.

Gary West Takes Down Cathedral

Indianapolis Cathedral came into this one with a 14-1 record and their lone loss coming in double overtime to the #1 team in the state, Homestead. In this top-15 4A matchup, both of these teams came out ready to shine. Cathedral took a 13-4 lead early in the first quarter, but after this lead, neither team led by more than two possessions until the very end. With 10 seconds to go, [player_tooltip player_id="874211" first="Parion" last="Roberson"] hit a big three off of the Cathedral double team to give Gary West a 61-59 lead. [player_tooltip player_id="870212" first="Tayshawn" last="Comer"] then missed the game-tying shot, but [player_tooltip player_id="783162" first="Vincent" last="Brady"] was there for the tip-in to send it to overtime, tied at 61. In overtime, Gary West was hitting everything as they score the first 9 points of OT and hold on for a 72-63 victory at home. [player_tooltip player_id="783162" first="Vincent" last="Brady"] led the Irish with 27 points on 7-9 from beyond the arc. Gary West will be back in action on Tuesday vs. River Forest, and Cathedral will travel to Fort Wayne Blackhawk on Friday.

Homestead Survives With Goode Buzzer Beater

The best team in the state, Homestead, came out of Hamilton Southeastern with a 19-0 record thanks to [player_tooltip player_id="529568" first="Luke" last="Goode"] who hit a fallaway three at the buzzer to give the Spartans a 56-53 victory on the road. Homestead was in control early on, but the Royals fought back to take a 3 point lead at the end of the third quarter. The game ended up tied at 53 with 5 seconds to go when [player_tooltip player_id="1063961" first="Fletcher" last="Loyer"] came up with a big steal on the inbounds play and called a timeout before falling out of bounds. Then, [player_tooltip player_id="529568" first="Luke" last="Goode"] caught the inbounds pass with under a second to go and drained the three while falling out of bounds to give the Spartans the win. Homestead will attempt to improve to 20-0 on Tuesday at home against Fort Wayne Wayne.

South Knox Upsets 1-Loss Evansville Reitz

South Knox came into Evansville on Saturday at 8-8, having a very up and down season so far. However, the Spartans definitely reached their highest high of the season with a 38-36 victory at the top-ten ranked Evansville Reitz Panthers. South Knox slowed the game down and held the Panthers under 50 points for the first time this season. It was a back and forth game throughout, but with the game tied at 36, Tristian Wirth was fouled with 4 seconds to go in the game. Wirth would hit both free throws and the Panthers would miss their desperation shot at the buzzer to give the Spartans their first win over a 4A school in over 20 years. [player_tooltip player_id="783155" first="Owen" last="Dease"] would lead Reitz with 23 points. For South Knox, Dakota Candler led with 12, [player_tooltip player_id="963926" first="Garrett" last="Holscher"] added 11, and Brennon Robinson added 9. South Knox will look to build off this upset victory with a matchup with the number one team in 1A
