Bolingbrook and Homewood Flossmoor are traditionally two of the best programs in the Chicago south suburbs. They matched up on Tuesday night. Homewood Flossmoor dominated from the beginning and despite several runs from Bolingbrook they could never quite get over the hump as Homewood Flossmoor won by a final of 71-62. See our thoughts in 5 Takeaways: Homewood Flossmoor vs Bolingbrook!

[player_tooltip player_id="771544" first="Christian" last="Meeks"] is a D1 Player

Homewood Flossmoor 2022 power forward [player_tooltip player_id="771544" first="Christian" last="Meeks"] has been a tough evaluation over the years. He is a 6’5” high-motor forward that is relentless on the glass and produces every time we see him. He isn’t a true three and doesn’t have the size to be a natural four, but I’m to the point it doesn’t matter. In this new age positionless basketball his position is DIFFRENCE MAKER! Meeks uses his athleticism and toughness to own the glass for second chance points. Runs the floor hard for transition points. Cleans up any loose ends on the offensive end for points. Can defend multiple positions. The skill continues to flash too as he hit a mid-range jumper and free throw stroke looks so much more consistent than a year ago. Meeks is that perfect role player at the low-major level you will never have to run a play for and might get a double double. Went for 20 points.

Homewood Flossmoor Senior Backcourt Continues to Star

The backcourt of HF was outstanding in this game. Daniel Reed has opened eyes as a senior especially with his perimeter shooting. Plus shooter that plays well in the open floor. He had 13 points. Governors State commit [player_tooltip player_id="995986" first="Tai" last="Walters"] was rock solid and consistent as always. Crisp pull up shooter and his passing was very impressive. Creative in the open floor with nifty dishes. Finished with 14 points.

Upside of HF Front Line with Rubin Twins

[player_tooltip player_id="1048305" first="Wesley" last="Rubin"] and [player_tooltip player_id="1048306" first="Miles" last="Rubin"] are the future at Homewood Flossmoor. The 6’7” four men are twins that can impact the game on both ends of the floor. Wes was outstanding in this game. Mobile four man had a slash from the mid-post, finished a dump off, knocked down a 15 foot jumper, and had a pair of put backs. Went for 8 points.

[player_tooltip player_id="920978" first="Kyonte" last="Thomas"] All-Around Game Making Strides

Bolingbrook point guard [player_tooltip player_id="920978" first="Kyonte" last="Thomas"] gets after it on the defensive end, but his offensive game has made major strides. The Trinity International commit gets to the line a ton and is explosive attacking off the bounce. Quick twitched guard who is tough as nails. Has expanded his game with improved passing and feel. Went for 11 points.

Pair of Guards Emerging for Bolingbrook While Undersized Post Just Produces

Two guards from The Brook helped themselves on Tuesday evening. Class of 2022 point guard [player_tooltip player_id="1048730" first="Jaydin" last="Dunlap"] is a lengthy combo guard that jumped on our radar with the Champaign Heat over the summer. He can be a defensive stopper and on the offensive end was excellent working on the baseline and scoring at the rim netting 21 points. Josh Aniceto is a 2024 point guard that proved he could flat out stroke it from beyond the arc. Drained three triples along with a runner. Played with poise and swag. Undersized 6’4” 2022 power forward Michael Osei-Bonsu isn’t overly projectable with his burly frame, but the post gets the job done. Junk yard dog big man that finishes around the hoop and is a very good area rebounder. He had 11 points.
