The Coppell Cowboys went on the road and beat the Lewisville Farmers 83-73 on Tuesday, and the Prosper Eagles hosted and defeated the Allen Eagles in overtime by a score of 79-66 on Friday.
Here are five standout juniors from this past week’s action:
Anthony Black Anthony Black 6'7" | PG Duncanville | 2022 State #10 Nation TX | 2022 | 6’6’’ Shooting Guard | Coppell HS – Black is a tremendous athlete who is incredibly efficient when he gets downhill. The No. 9 ranked prospect in our Prep Hoops Texas 2022 rankings got to the rim at will on Tuesday, both in transition after creating turnovers as well as in the half court via dribble penetration. He displayed good vision as a passer while also showing off his football background as a wide receiver when climbing the ladder for rebounds. He finished the game with 24 points, eight rebounds, two assists, and two steals.
Will Curtis | 2022 | 6’4’’ Shooting Guard | Lewisville HS – Curtis put together a terrific two-way performance vs. Coppell. He scored in numerous ways, including a trio of three-pointers, a nice-looking runner, and a mid-range jumper off the bounce. The junior two-guard was excellent on defense too. He did a great job staying attached to Coppell’s best shooter both on and away from the ball. He ended up with 20 points, nine rebounds, and three assists on Tuesday.
Nazir Brown Nazir Brown 6'1" | PG Coppell | 2022 State TX | 2022 | 6’1’’ Point Guard | Coppell HS – Brown was aggressive from start to finish on Tuesday. He was constantly attacking the basket off the drive, rarely settling for jumpers and converting tough finishes at the rim. The 2022 point guard is a solid shooter as well, evidenced by a pair of triples, forcing defenders to play him straight up. Additionally, Brown lived at the foul line as a result of his aggressiveness and hit the majority of his free throws. He ended the night as the game’s leading scorer with 33 points, seven rebounds, four assists, and two steals.
Jordan Hall | 2022 | 6’2’’ Shooting Guard | Prosper HS – Hall came off the bench for Prosper on Friday and did a fantastic job in his role as a three-and-D wing. He buried two catch-and-shoot corner threes, one of which came almost immediately after he entered the game, showing that he can provide instant offense. Furthermore, the Prosper junior is a solid perimeter defender who hustles up and down the court.
Ryan Agarwal Ryan Agarwal 6'7" | SF Coppell | 2022 State #99 Nation TX | 2022 | 6’7’’ Small Forward | Coppell HS – Agarwal is a knock-down shooter from just about anywhere on the floor. The junior marksman is gifted at creating his own shot and can make a variety of jumpers from mid-range and behind the arc. He got off to a hot start in the first quarter, scoring nine points and only missing one shot by my count. He spent the remainder of the contest making timely cuts to the basket and utilizing his length to score inside, displaying that he values shot selection and understands how to use his size advantage against smaller defenders. This guy is a certified bucket getter.
