Wednesday Night Basketball! Something we are seeing more and more these days - especially with scheduling being more difficult - is Wednesday night hoops. We don’t want you to forget about the Wednesday standouts.

[player_tooltip player_id="836689" first="Jalen" last="Cook"] of Park (Sr). Minot State signed [player_tooltip player_id="836689" first="Jalen" last="Cook"] is off to a monster start this season with a quick 20 before sitting much of the Coon Rapids win, and then 34 points last night leading the Pirates over Elk River. With [player_tooltip player_id="850710" first="Braeden" last="Carrington"] playing with a cast on his shooting hand Cook has had to step up and last night he did with a monster performance.

[player_tooltip player_id="774870" first="Evan" last="Kim"] of Mounds View (Sr). The impressive start for the Mustangs continued with a double figure victory over White Bear Lake. Mounds View has the type of balanced talent and experience that could lead to a different player stepping up as the go to guy each night. Two games ago it was Kobe Kirk, last night it was [player_tooltip player_id="774870" first="Evan" last="Kim"] with 25. Kim led Mounds View in scoring a season ago.

Samuel Olson of Blaine (Sr). The Bengals picked up a nice conference win over Anoka 66-64 and it was Samuel Olson’s ability in the paint that pushed them to an important victory. Olson is about 6’5/6’6 and can play a few different spots. Last night he had a double-double highlighted by his 19 points.

Elijah Smith of Coon Rapids (Jr). This summer we saw some real promise from Smith playing with Gain Elite and so far this season it’s translating to the varsity level. Smith’s 21 points push the Cards to a win over Rogers. Smith is a 6-foot-4 forward.

[player_tooltip player_id="774746" first="Joshua" last="Strong"] of Champlin Park (Sr). Strong - signed with UMD - took over an ugly game with 23 of his 25 points in the second half leading the Rebels over Spring Lake Park. The TC Hoops Czar stats and post game mentioned that Strong mixed in a couple threes with basket attacks and 7 of 8 foul shooting.

[player_tooltip player_id="958638" first="Demarion" last="Watson-Saulsberry"] (Jr). The Eagle defense must of been better last night as T-G held Armstrong to only 52 points. Leading the way was nationally ranked Watson-Saulsberry who scored 21 points.
