Shortly the rankings in Minnesota’s junior class will be updated. What major stock risers should college coaches know about? We break it down today.

Let me set this up a tad. This summer [player_tooltip player_id="958638" first="Demarion" last="Watson-Saulsberry"] and [player_tooltip player_id="891901" first="Ahjany" last="Lee"] were fantastic earning national level praise, and a national level ranking. This fall [player_tooltip player_id="850710" first="Braeden" last="Carrington"] was the big story earning options with his multi-level scoring. They are three of the national elite stock raisers out there. We are going to move a little deeper than that here though with some guys who may not get quite the same headlines.

[player_tooltip player_id="958646" first="Jasper" last="Hedin"] of Winona (6’5 SF). One of the biggest winter and/or spring stock risers will be [player_tooltip player_id="958646" first="Jasper" last="Hedin"]. Jasper is a fantastic athlete at 6-foot-5 with a nice stroke on the move. He’s scored 85 points in three games with Winona and is just starting to realize what he’s fully capable of on the court.

[player_tooltip player_id="958680" first="Kyle" last="Hrncir"] of Farmington (6’5 SF). Kyle is an excellent baseball prospect but on the court his skilled wing/forward size could make him a top college hoops prospect as well. Coming off a 22 point game against Burnsville and he started the season tough versus Lakeville North.

[player_tooltip player_id="958702" first="Buom" last="Jock"] of Mankato West (6’5 SF). The guy with the most online social media push right now might be [player_tooltip player_id="958702" first="Buom" last="Jock"] (go ahead, put his name into your twitter search). The 6-foot-5 explosive wing athlete helped his team get a big win over Owatonna the other day as the young Scarlets are maturing. And as they continue to mature Jock and his team have dangerous potential. Jock has rare explosive agility which will one day make him a scholarship basketball player.

Kobe Kirk of Mounds View (6’3 SG). The Mustangs have found themselves another weapon. The pretty touch of the Kobe Kirk shot has led to 15 points a game that is taking pressure of [player_tooltip player_id="850723" first="Dylan" last="Wheeler"] and [player_tooltip player_id="774870" first="Evan" last="Kim"]. Love the lift and touch on the Kirk jumper.

Pharrel Payne of Park of Cottage Grove (6’8, PF/C). A division one talent? Absolutely. This long armed agile defensive menace is also scoring 23 points a game and has the Wolfpack dreaming big. Payne has the rare agility and length in a big frame that’s hard to find. A division one level talent we think will one day be sifting through a lot of college options.

[player_tooltip player_id="958757" first="Cody" last="Pennebaker"] of St Francis (6’5 Wing). The explosive wing had a great start to the season posting 25 points with eight rebounds and four steals. His explosive athletic ability has led him to three 20 plus point games this season coming off a really nice summer with the Sizzle.

[player_tooltip player_id="958669" first="Kenji" last="Scales"] of Eastview (6’0 PG). Scales has led the Lighting to three double figure victories this season already with a team high in assists and also being the third leading scorer. He’s stepped into a similar playmaking role that we saw from him this summer.

Zach Zrust of Buffalo (6’8 PF). Buffalo has a junior class that continues to progress. [player_tooltip player_id="850738" first="Antonio" last="Bluiett"] was the known name but Will Poll and Zach Zrust have stepped forward this year as well. Zrust is a 6’8 skilled forward who is scoring 13-14 a game and had 27 points against Eden Prairie. He also had a game winning deep post score kissing the ball off the glass vs EP.
