Rankings are subjective and PrepHoops.com ranks purely upon potential and where the player will be at their basketball peak. Production factors in only when helping prove the potential is greater or lesser. Why did we rank these guys? Why are they at this spot? Take a look at four Class of 2021 prospects and learn a little about their reputation.
#237 Shaler Hankins Shaler Hankins 6'5" | PF Loretto | 2021 State TN (Loretto)
Homecoming King. Shaler plays with surprising straight-line speed considering his heft at 200 and strong. Hankins is kind of a rim-runner. Rebounds fine. Hankins’ feet are light and his agility is a positive. For the Mustangs, SH plays center or power forward alongside Tabias Sirmones Tabias Sirmones 6'6" | PF Loretto | 2022 State TN . If college basketball were his ambition, and I am not sure it is, then he would almost certainly be a college “4.”
#238 Tevin Schoonover Tevin Schoonover 5'11" | PG Bradford | 2021 State TN (Bradford)
Capable off-ball shooter. At his height Tevin must be recruited as a point guard with shooting skill. His ceiling is NAIA. Handle is just ok and his speed with the ball is a smidgen beneath average small college guards.
#239 Bryant Rippy Bryant Rippy 6'0" | PG Rossview | 2021 State TN (Rossview)
Rippy is a throwback, gritty point guard from the 80s. Think Stockton or Mookie Blaylock. Maybe Mark Price? Ripple is the kind of unselfish, high-efficiency player that frequently shows up on winning teams. His value to his high school team is certainly higher than his value as a college prospect, unless the recruiters place a premium on intangibles.
Bryant’s older sister, Macy Rippy is a freshman on basketball scholarship for UT Martin.
#240 Jack Jubenville Jack Jubenville 5'10" | PG Middle Tennessee Christian School | 2021 State TN (Middle Tennessee Christian School)
Wizard with the basketball. Jack can create his own. Just average speed and slightly undersized for a college lead guard, which hurts him. Jubenville is capable of leading a team.
