The most respected national analysts in the country right now – note that a number of others have taken jobs with NBA teams – are Brian Snow, Eric Bossi, Josh Gerhson, and Jerry Meyer. After watching film where do they see our Minnesota talent? Here is a top ten combining all three classes.
Chet Holmgren Chet Holmgren 7'0" | C Minnehaha Academy | 2021 State #1 Nation MN (1). Chet is the consensus number one by everybody. “Extremely unique player who is unlike almost any American prospect in recent years. Good size, long arms and plus athleticism. Very tough kid with impressive mental makeup. Has range to perimeter with jumper, good body control and high feel. Projects as lottery pick.”
Kendall Brown (2). A five star talent, Kendall Brown has blossomed in a huge way since moving from East Ridge to Sunrise Christian. Ranked 12th in 2021 and headed to Baylor. “Extremely athletic with good length for a wing. Very quick getting off the floor. A finesse slasher type player. Has ability to finish tough shots. Not a long range shooter at this point. Handles and passes well. Serves as secondary ball handler. Disruptive and versatile defender. Improving shooting range is key to his development.” – Meyer
Taison Chatman Taison Chatman 6'4" | PG Totino Grace | 2023 State #35 Nation MN (3). The Totino-Grace sophomore is a 5-star prospect by the 247 analysts ranking 18th in the country and of course number one in his class for Minnesota. Chatman is the lone Minnesotan in the 2023 rankings from that company and the rankings only go up to 50 so far.
Camden Heide Camden Heide 6'7" | SF Wasatch Academy | 2022 State #129 Nation UT (4). The highest ranked Minnesota prospect in the 247 rankings for 2022 is Camden Heide Camden Heide 6'7" | SF Wasatch Academy | 2022 State #129 Nation UT (they have him at 69). He’s been their highest rated Minnesota player since they saw him at the U16 try-outs a couple summers back.
Tre Holloman Tre Holloman 6'2" | PG Cretin-Derham Hall | 2022 State #57 Nation MN (5). The player ranked right behind Camden in the current 247 rankings? That’s Tre Holloman Tre Holloman 6'2" | PG Cretin-Derham Hall | 2022 State #57 Nation MN who is at 70. They have Tre ranked as the 13th best junior point guard prospect in the nation.
Ahjany Lee Ahjany Lee 6'9" | C Byron | 2022 State #145 Nation MN (6). The Byron talent is one of the hottest names in the nation as he has burst to a ranking of 109 after a great summer. Lee is 247’s third ranked Minnesota junior and a top 25 junior power forward prospect.
Treyton Thompson (7). Thompson is now ranked 123 in the nation, had been in the 75 to 100 area. Thompson was at Alexandria High School in Minnesota but has since went to La Lumiere Prep in Indiana where he’s really matured as a defender and added a lot of muscule to his frame. Signed with Minnesota.
Eli King Eli King 6'2" | PG Caledonia | 2022 State #151 Nation MN (8). The Caledonia dual sport talent who we feel will likely play basketball in college is ranked as a top 125 junior in the nation (coming in at 124). He’s a top 20 combo guard prospect and the 4th ranked Minnesota junior by 247.
Demarion Watson Demarion Watson 6'8" | SF Totino-Grace | 2022 State #150 Nation MN (9). Watson-Saulsberry didn’t play varsity hoops for the most part last year. He’s ranked top 150 by 247 (143rd to be exact) based on an awesome summer at camps and playing with Grassroots Sizzle. Taking his first steps as a major prospect and likely to fly up these rankings when 247 resorts their rankings.
Prince Aligbe Prince Aligbe 6'6" | SF Minnehaha Academy | 2022 State #167 Nation MN (10). The 247 Sports analysts rank Prince at 186th in the country and sixth in Minnesota. They have Prince at 6th in the state and a top 40 small forward nationally in the junior class.
