The NJAC may not be the most well-known conference in New Jersey, but it is still filled with good teams. West Morris was a top 20 team all year, while Hackettstown took home the North Jersey 2 Group 2 title. The conference has a ton of players capable of taking over games. Here are the top NJAC Player of the Year candidates for 2020-21.

[player_tooltip player_id="900333" first="Rafael" last="Castro"], 6’9 PF Dover 2021

Castro is the first D1 player to come out of Dover and should have an explosive final season for the tigers. The Providence commit is the top shot-blocker in the class as he uses his athleticism and length to swat shots around the rim. Castro is able to face up his defender on the perimeter and get to the rim. He is capable of knocking down three-pointers and is a strong rebounder as he led the state in rebounding last year. Castro is a talented stretch four who has a bright future ahead of him at Providence.

[player_tooltip player_id="900309" first="Christian" last="Cevis"], 6’0 PG West Morris 2021

The Wolfpack have been one of the top programs in Morris County over the last two seasons and Cevis is a big reason for their success. The Fairfield commit is a true lead guard who does not get rattled under pressure and plays with great court vision. Cevis has a tight handle and is able to create plays when he gets into the lane. He is a thief in the backcourt on the defensive end and is capable of burying jumpers from behind the arc. Cevis has been one of the top players in Morris County over the past two seasons and will continue to do so in his final varsity season.

[player_tooltip player_id="901988" first="Andrew" last="Stack"], 6’2 SG Madison 2022

Stack had a strong summer with the Unity Legends 16U team and it should translate into success this season for Madison. The 6’2 guard is a big-time shooter as he has a quick release on his jumper and can bury shots in bunches. Stack is more than just a shooter as he can put the ball on the floor and finish around the basket. He is an underrated defender and makes good decisions with the ball in his hands. Stack is a skilled shooting guard prospect who should have a strong junior campaign for Madison.

[player_tooltip player_id="1016677" first="Omarion" last="Jett-Dobbs"], 6’2 CG Morris Catholic 2022

Morris Catholic only won five games last season, but should have a bounce back year with the addition of Jett-Dobbs. The Montclair transfer plays physical on-ball defense and makes plays with his energy and athleticism. Jett-Dobbs attacks the basket with a purpose and knows how to finish through contact. He has a good handle and is an underrated passer. Jett-Dobbs is a tough guard prospect who should have a strong debut season for Morris Catholic.

[player_tooltip player_id="1035705" first="Trevor" last="Napoliello"], 6’5 SF Roxbury 2021

The Gaels won 18 games last season and should have similar success this year with Napoliello returning. The 6’5 wing is a knockdown shooter from distance as he is capable of getting hot in a hurry. Napoliello has a quick release on his jumper, but can also finish around the basket. He fights for rebounds on both ends of the floor and knows how to move his feet on the defensive end.
