Ater Marial – Bishop Timon-St. Jude – Class of 2021
Marial led the Monsignor Martin League in blocked shots in 2019-2020 as a Junior. He was the only player in the conference to average 2 blocks per game (he finished at 2.1 in 25 games). Splitting time at both the Forward and Center position, Marial showed impeccable timing all season long. Marial enters his Senior season looking to repeat as the top shot-blocker in the conference.
Kevin Thompson Kevin Thompson 6'5" | SF Bishop Timon | 2022 State NY – Bishop Timon-St. Jude – Class of 2022
Though Ater Marial led the conference in blocked shots, his teammate Kevin Thompson Kevin Thompson 6'5" | SF Bishop Timon | 2022 State NY was a not-too-distant second. Thompson, a 6’4” Wing, finished at 1.7 blocks per game. Now an upperclassman, Thompson will play an even larger role for the Tiger squad in 2020-2021.
Chris Wright – Cardinal O’Hara – Class of 2022
In 26 games, Wright blocked 40 shots in 2019-2020. That clip equates to an even 1.5 blocks per game. Wright’s shot-blocking ability was on full force in a February 2020 route of Nichols, swatting six shots in the game. Wright will need to exceed last season’s output in order to improve Cardinal O’Hara’s .500 conference record from 2019-2020.
Amiel Collins – St. Francis – Class of 2021
Incredibly, Collins earned his way on this list as a pure Shooting Guard. Standing at only 6’3”, Collins blocked 1.2 shots per game in 25 contests. He utilizes his wide frame to make up for his (lack of) height, routinely carving out space for himself deep within the paint. Collins will look to improve last season’s total of 30 blocked shots in his Senior season in 2020-2021.
Jimmie Green III – Cardinal O’Hara – Class of 2022
Green III joined his teammate Chris Wright as a prolific shot blocker in 2019-2020. Appearing in all 26 games, the sophomore Forward averaged 1.1 blocks per game. Green III will attempt to build on the way he finished last season; over his final six games, he blocked 12 shots, nearly doubling his total season output. Similar to Wright, Green III still has two seasons of eligibility remaining.
