On December 3rd I attended the Grind Session Mini Bubble at the Phhacility in Phx, AZ.

6 teams with three games played on the night.

Results:

Eduprize 85 Phhoenix Prep Heat 80 2OT

Veritas Prep 69 Minnesota Prep 63

Phhoenix Prep Fire 82 Bella Vista Prep 74

Here were some of the senior standouts of the three games:

[player_tooltip player_id="703805" first="Kiran" last="Oliver"] Phhoenix Prep (Pictured)

-The highlight reel wing keeps making plays in every game. He has many traits to like but his motor to defend really stands out. He grabs out of area rebounds, takes charges, collect steals all game long while catching his usual lob dunks. He had a game high 23 points and 8 rebounds.

[player_tooltip player_id="809672" first="Jason" last="Elder"] Phhoenix Prep

-The jack of all trades scores it any way. He had 10 points and 7 rebounds just at the half alone but unfortunately injured himself at the end of the 1st half and never came back in the game. He is a a terrific rebounder and a multiple positional defender. His 3-ball is superior then a year ago and he loves taking his defender off the bounce using his burst, tighter handle and quickness.

[player_tooltip player_id="809688" first="Brett" last="Hardt Jr"] Phhoenix Prep

-The engine that gets the Fire's offense going. He initiates a lot of offense and sets the table. He makes his usual mid-range pull-up off the dribble and makes catch-3’s. His size, shooting, feel and the ability to consistently change speeds makes his game go.

[player_tooltip player_id="931379" first="Isaac" last="Spears"] Bella Vista Prep

-A talented scoring guard who is really becoming a great passer. He is making better reads and decisions with the ball but can still score. He has the runner, the deep ball and he can pull-up. He is one of the top CG’s left on the board from the state.

[player_tooltip player_id="703801" first="Carter" last="Van Hammond"] Phhoenix Prep

-A breakout game for CVH. He got the nod to start and cashed in with 8 points (3-4 FG) 7 rebounds and 2 blocks. He was active all game long and really showed a huge improvement of his skill level. His shooting has improved dramatically from the perimeter as he had a real hitch but it looks cleaner now, which bodes well for his future at Air Force.

[player_tooltip player_id="1049665" first="Keeshawn" last="Mason"] Bella Vista Prep

-A thick and strong PF with skill. He can comfortably hit the 3 and uses his strength and grit to rebound the ball and score it inside. His post footwork and hook shots are really impressive to watch. NJIT looks like they got a steal.

[player_tooltip player_id="809680" first="Ricardo" last="Sarmiento"] Phhoenix Prep

-A tough and fearless guard is one of the top bench players along with Eduprize’s [player_tooltip player_id="994506" first="Rickey" last="Bradley"]. He does what the team needs at this point. He scores it with his pull-ups and improving 3’s plus makes plays for others. He is always a fiery on-ball defender and has become very dependable.
