Travaughn Luyobya, Clear Lake High School (2023)
In the game where the outcome was determined from an early part in the game, Luyobya was a player who flashed to start the game against Mason City. He’s not a high scorer for his team, but he doesn’t have to be and he understands that from the tip. At about 5’10, he’s quick with the ball and puts pressure on defenses with the way he can get into the lane and find teammates, as he leads his team in assists per game (5.3). The Sophomores stat line against the Mohawks was 4 points, 6 assists, and 7 rebounds. Luyobya is an under-the-radar 2023 prospect that has a good foundation to build on going forward throughout the rest of his High School career.
Colby Collison Colby Collison 6'4" | SF Bondurant-Farrar | 2023 State IA , Bondurant-Farrar High School (2023)
In a game that pretty lopsided from the start, Collison and Bondurant did not have an answer for the Ballard offense. Collison did not have the game fans are accustomed to seeing already to start the season. He finished with 9 points but I could see what he brings to the table as a sophomore already for the Bluejays. A player who brought 13 points per game in his freshman season, and looking to step up his production in his sophomore season, as he leads the team in points per game (17.3). The game didn’t turn as the Bluejays had planned, but Collison has the shooting ability and size to build upon for the next 3 years and throughout the rest of the season.
