Look for these kids to take major leaps this next year as they develop as players and athletes. I cannot wait to see what the future holds for these young men as they continue to grow and begin their senior campaigns.
Jason Resewehr 6’3 2021 Tompkins High School
Jason is an intelligent combo guard who shoots the ball very well. He is a skilled ball handler who thrives out of the triple threat. I would like to see him get lower and provide more explosion out of the triple threat because he has the intelligence to get his defenders off balance with ease. I would also like to see him work on his ball control and ability to shoot off the dribble. If he can become a three level scorer he has a chance to be an effective player at the next level.
Adolfo Martinex 2021 Plainview High School
Adolfo is an intelligent set shooter who moves well without the basketball. He is great at flying off of pin downs and is great at getting his feet set quickly and his shoulders square. He is a confident shooter even from deep NBA range! He has all the tools to be an impressive four level scorer if he continues to develop as a scorer and facilitator for his teammates. He is a very aware player who knows how to use space to get open. I would like to see continued development with an active dribble and work on his playmaking ability and confidence in creating for others and doing everything else besides shooting.
Jaylen Carthan 2021 Shooting Guard Dawson High School (Pearland/Houston)
Jaylen is a quick all-around scorer who loves to get to his spots around the arc and in the midrange. He is the definition of a true three to four level scorer, with an ability to knock down shots from deep NBA range. I was really impressed with his ability to shoot off the dribble, even when seeming to get sped up on the fast break. His shooting touch off the catch is deadly as well, allowing him to come off pin downs and get his feet set. I was impressed with his ability to finish in the lane over longer and stronger competition, but his strength with the basketball around the rim and soft touch with his dominant hand impressed me. I would like to see more development with his playmaking instincts and ability, because I know they are there with his positioning and ability to read the game as an off the ball guard.
Kye Deville 6’4 2021 (H-Town Gliders) Cy-Fair High School
Kye is an athletic guard who plays with great size and skill. He has incredibly lanky arms that he uses very well on the defensive end of the floor. He has good defensive instincts and can guard positions one through three. He has good jumping ability which allows him to finish well at the rim, turn away shots and grab rebounds well for a combo guard.
