The competition at this event was the highest it has been and was an impressive showcase of all of the talent in the great state of Texas. Be on the lookout for the rest of my content, as I thoroughly cover this event.
Donovan Stafford 2021 Desoto High School
Donovan is an impressive athlete who is ferocious on both ends of the floor. His aggressiveness and willingness to put pressure on his opponents forced them to be uncomfortable all tournament. He has a great set shot and can easily knock down shots from behind the arc if given time. He loves to take the toughest defensive matchup and is a coveted irritator on the defensive side of the ball. I would like to see him improve with his confidence as a ball handler and scorer off the bounce, he has all the tools to be a versatile offensive and defensive weapon.
Amine Bouarifi 2021 Wing Spring Creek Academy (Plano)
Amine is an oversized combo guard with a pass first mentality and play style. His creativity with the basketball set up his teammates for easy opportunities. He rebounds the ball very well for his position and loves to bully defenders down low when he gets the switch on to smaller guards. I would like to see him improve his agility and footwork over this next season, if he is able to run the floor with quicker guards and be a reliable scoring option in the paint and distributor he can easily score on the fast break and create for his teammates.
Robyn Hardin 2021 Wing Gainesville High School
Robyn is an impressive facilitator he makes accurate passes that set up his teammates for easy opportunities. He is great with a live dribble and is great at breaking down the defense in the full court. He is smart at passing to his cutting teammates in the full court or the half court. He is crafty for his size and has all the tools to be an especially skilled wing at the next level. I would like to see him develop as a defender and staying engaged on that end of the floor.
Joshua Beall 2021 Wing
Joshua is an athletic wing who has good ball control and foot speed. He is athletic and a good rim runner and natural slasher. His long arms allow him to naturally finish over and through defenders. He is also a good defender, who can naturally guard positions three and four. I was really impressed with his agility paired with his length and athletic ability. He has all the tools to be an effective wing at the next level. I would like to see him work on his playmaking ability and overall court vision.
