This has been a great representation of some of the great young talent Minnesota has to offer. Be on the lookout for the rest of my coverage of this league over the next coming weeks!
Griffin Caroll 2027 5’2 Maple Groves Middle School
Griffin has been an elite player during this event. He is a real weapon on the court and has a game that is progressing very well for his age. He is a confident scorer at all three levels and thrives at getting into the teeth of the defense and finishing over bigs and through smaller defenders. I would like to see him work on his ability to shoot off the catch and work on using his spacing and the attention he draws to put his teammates into better positions.
Zach Christofferson 2026 5’9 Prior Lake High School
Zach is a long forward who can stretch the floor and attack the defense in the paint. He is great at moving without the ball and drawing attention away from his teammates to set them up. I was impressed with his touch and jumper outside of the paint, but would like to see continued development in his shooting ability off the dribble, as well as adding more crossovers and dribble moves to beat defenders to a spot and keep them on their heels.
Casey Fliehe 2026 5’7 Lakeville South High School
Casey is an impressive force who possesses great strength and size while still displaying great athleticism and an ability to put the ball on the floor. He is becoming a truly skilled finisher in the paint while still displaying confidence on his outside in game. His aggressiveness and ability to box out opponents will make him a coveted big over his early high school years. I would like to see him work on his ability to move without the basketball, and work on sealing defenders to create driving lanes for his teammates as well.
Myrick Solomon 2026 5’8 Triton Middle School
Myrick is a lanky wing with a knock down jumper. He is great at operating as a spot up shooter and has a real nose for the ball, grabbing rebounds and clamping up his opponents on the defensive end. I loved his hustle and willingness to put his body on the line on the defensive side of the ball. He is such an energetic player, coaches at the next level will be eager to get their hands on him to shape him into the player they see him in. I could really see him becoming a versatile wing with an ability to score and clamp up defenders, much like a prime Paul George.
Bryce Gaugstad 2027 5’8 PACT
Bryce thrives at getting into the lane and drawing contact. He is a good free throw shooter who makes defenders pay for jumping with him and contesting his shot too hard. He is patient underneath the basket and has a knack for finishing through contact. He is an active defender with long arms that allow him to thrive in the passing lanes. I would like to see him work on his shot off the dribble.
