The Commonwealth Basketball Group held their second session of their Fall Series at Guardian Christian Academy in Chesterfield, VA. The goal of the event was to get kids back in the gym in a grassroots setting, and provide a live steam to college coaches to be able to evaluate the talent in a structured environment.

The event had 16 teams and was loaded with talent, so doing the standouts in just one article simply isn’t possible. Here’s a look at part two of the 2021 standouts, featuring six guys to keep an eye on.

[player_tooltip player_id="798719" first="Dana" last="Woodley"] | 6’4” WG | CBG Blue Magic

“Woo” has been phenomenal throughout the the Fall Series, showing off multiple facets of his game that makes me think he’ll have a chance to be even better in college if given the right development and situation. He has a great frame that should fill out well, he’s a superb athlete that makes show stopping plays above the rim and he’s a guy who can stretch the floor and consistently make shots from deep off the catch. He’s a guy who tracks to be a good 3 and d guy who brings energy, and he still has room to improve in a number of ways.

[player_tooltip player_id="798691" first="Jason" last="Nelson"] | 5’10” PG | CBG Blue Magic

The U of R commit is someone I feel like I write about every time I watch him play, because he does so much to control the game and put his team in situations to win. He’s obviously not the biggest guy when he’s on the floor but he handles pressure well, he’s equally effective as a scorer and a distributor and he’s a guy who’s so competitive he brings his team up a notch with him. His mix of competitiveness and work ethic makes me think he’ll be just fine in the A10 over the next few years.

[player_tooltip player_id="957897" first="Cam" last="Edmonds"] | 6’1” G | Chesapeake Jaguars

Edmonds was the high scorer in the first session, and while his teammate [player_tooltip player_id="815585" first="Efrem" last="Johnson"] took home that honor this session Edmonds still showed he can flat out fill it up in many different ways. Edmonds has this tough demeanor to him, as he’s going to come at you over and over again and he’s going to score on you more often than not. He can shoot it from deep, he’s a good slasher and he plays on both ends as well.

[player_tooltip player_id="798738" first="Bobby" last="Johnson"] | 6’2” G | Chesapeake Jaguars

Johnson is another guy whose toughness is a key in both his individual success and his team’s success as well. A terrific defender and rebounded, Johnson makes all of the hustle plays and the blue collar plays for his team, but he’s also a guy who can score it and make plays off the bounce too. His energy and hustle plays don’t always show up in the stat sheet, but his scoring and rebounding do, and both help his team win!

Femi Adebiyi | 5’10” PG | CBG 757 VA Beach

Adebiyi is one of the more experienced guys on a very young Landstown team, and he stepped up big time as a second scoring option next to junior DJ Hand. Adebiyi is going to have to play an important role for the Eagles to be successful, and he showed that he’s a guy who can both handle and initiate offense and he can also make shots off the catch or off the bounce. He’ll be a guy who could have a breakout year for them this year.

Jaden Walker | 6’0” G | Team Assist Orange

Walker followed up his impressive first session with another big game, as he scored 18 points in the final game of the day and it’s a quiet 18 because he gets them so easily within the flow of the game. Walker’s a hustle guy that turns defense into offense, he plays hard in transition and he’s a guy who can get to the cup and finish with both hands. He makes hustle plays on both ends of the floor and is efficient on the offensive end too.
