The class of 2022 has seen the emergence of multiple players during this limited Summer season. Players such as [player_tooltip player_id="674422" first="Koren" last="Johnson"], [player_tooltip player_id="674421" first="Tyler" last="Mrus"] and [player_tooltip player_id="674420" first="Tyler" last="Linhardt"] have seen the offers start to pile in and this comes as little surprise as they are all top 3-4 level players in the class. Some of the other exciting players in the 2022 class are currently ranked outside of the top 10, but are surely underrated based on their ranking and recruiting, at least in some cases.

Underrated 2022’s - Part 1

2022 6’2 PG [player_tooltip player_id="674438" first="Maleek" last="Arington"] (#11 Overall, #2 PG) (Auburn HS) - His growth and development over the course of the last year has been impressive to say the least. The 6’2 point guard has grown a few inches in the last couple years, his athleticism and strength has leveled up and his shot making confidence has gone no where in the process. Arington is ranked number 11 from outdated rankings, but very much deserves to be higher. *Feature image

2022 6’9 PF [player_tooltip player_id="674436" first="Cooper" last="Church"] (#16 Overall, #4 PF) (Tahoma HS) - Quite possibly the most underrated player in the state’s 2022 class according to his ranking. Church has grown to 6’9 now and steadily improved his athleticism and all around skill set. He has enough skill to play some at the 3 or 4 at 6’9. Spin moves, pull up jumpers and triple threat attacks from the wing are all in his arsenal. The Tahoma High School standout certainty has a top five ceiling for this graduating class.

2022 6’2 CG [player_tooltip player_id="929622" first="Isaiah" last="Watts"] (#24 Overall, #5 CG) (West Seattle HS) - Another prospect that has steadily gotten better over the last couple years. Watts is a bit of a late bloomer physically and is still growing and filling out even now. His creativity and ability to create his own shot is strong, to go along with his slick handle. Watts has never really played on the circuit or club basketball scene, but he is a player that some colleges will begin to know more about over time.

2022 6’2 SG [player_tooltip player_id="929621" first="Ziggy" last="Holmes-Williams"] (#27 Overall, #5 SG) (Rainier Beach HS) - Ziggy joined the Rainier Beach team part way through the season and after finally getting to watch him in person, he is definitely underrated in the current rankings. His athletic prowess gives some flashbacks of his father, Terrence Williams, who was a lottery pick in the NBA draft. While not as tall and quite a bit more slender at the same age, Ziggy has similar athleticism in his 6’2 frame that makes his a great defender, rebounder and shot blocker for his position. His offensive skill set developed over the course of the season and he is putting together his natural ability and skill set to turn into quite the prospect in Washington’s 2022 class.
