Nothing like spending a Sunday in a gym looking at the amazing talent of the Metro Detroit Area. Let’s evaluate some of this talent I saw yesterday Part 2:
Aleks Cvetkovski (2021, PG, Utica)
Shooting Strength: I was looking at his mechanics and he gets good lift on his shot and his follow thru is perfect. Excellent range. He loves to catch and shoot. He will go left or right with either hand to create space. Don’t leave him open or its lights out.
Dribbling Strength: He dribbles with purpose with either hand. He easily can go in either direction. He sees the floor well and loves to penetrate. He plays with poise. Adequate speed and but he has good quickness.
Passing Strength: His passing is exceptional and he will deliver a pass with either hand. He doesn’t commit many turnovers. Good vision and court sense. He will make the right decision.
Defensive Strength: As with any players this age he needs to get better with on ball defense. He needs to improve his lateral movement. He closes out well and will plays good help defense. He doesn’t get lost in transition defensively.
Aleks is not going to be outworked. He is a floor general who will lead, distribute and score. He will do this on the college level also.
Andre Turner Andre Turner 6'1" | CG Livonia Stevenson | 2021 State MI (2021, PG, Sterling Heights Stevenson)
Shooting Strength: Turner can shoot the ball. He has good mechanics. He has the same form on his mid-range and 3 point attempts. He likes to catch and shoot.
Dribbling Strength: Turner can do whatever he wants with the basketball. I like how he is always under control even in transition. Excellent speed and quickness. He will take contact and finish
Passing Strength: Very nice court vision and awareness. He is an unselfish player which only enhances his game. He can make passes with either hand. He is getting better at limiting turnovers.
Defensive Strength: Turner has the skill set to be a consistent lockdown defender. When he develops that mindset opposing guards ae going to be in trouble. Good anticipation and he plays the passing lanes well.
I really like Turner’s game. He would truly help a college program. Body wise he is college ready. He is strong.
