Lincoln- The 2020 AAU/Summer Basketball season has come and gone. Even with all the uncertainty surrounding the entirety of the spring and summer months, teams and prospects from around Nebraska were able to travel throughout the midwest and showcase their talents these past few months. Here are some 2021 prospects from in and around Lincoln who stood out to anyone who watched them throughout the summer campaign.

[player_tooltip player_id="890470" first="Kwat" last="Abdelkarim"]- Lincoln North Star

Kwat has seen varsity minutes in mass for the last few years and has always been a microwave, whether it be as a starter or coming off of the bench. A crafty lefty, the 6’3 guard, thrives in taking defenders to the rim and finishing tough. This summer, there were also many games were Kwat got going from 3 point range and couldn’t be stopped. A skilled passer, who also isn’t afraid to crash the boards on both ends, he did a little bit of everything on the court for Lincoln Supreme over the summer and will be a name to watch as he leads the North Star Navigators this coming winter.

[player_tooltip player_id="890550" first="Pierce" last="Bazil"]- Lincoln Northeast

One of the better all-around point guards in the state, Bazil, another Lincoln Supreme product, is an incredibly sound player fundamentally and can do just a little bit of everything. Able to score in a multitude of ways, distribute to his teammates, as well as defend very well, Bazil has received a D2 offer from Wayne State, as well as having multiple Summit League schools show interest in the Lincoln Northeast product. He is a very crafty scorer, with great court vision, as well as the ability to step out and knock down 3’s. He will be one of the leading scorers in the state this coming high school season.

[player_tooltip player_id="958183" first="Livon" last="Ramsey"]- Lincoln High

A 6’4 forward, Ramsey is very long for his size. A very bouncy and athletic player who was all over the court this summer for Team Factory UA Rise. Ramsey looked the best on the inside bruising for rebounds against big men and finishing through contact at the rim. He is a defensive stopper and has a ton of upside thanks to his athleticism and length on both ends of the court.

[player_tooltip player_id="890564" first="Carter" last="Glen"]n- Lincoln East

Glenn is certainly on of the toughest guards in the state. He consistently plays hard and loves taking defenders of any size off the dribble to the basket. The 5’11 Glenn is also a skilled playmaker and passer. His tenacity and toughness on both ends makes him a difference maker in every game he plays in.

[player_tooltip player_id="1032508" first="Taveon" last="Thompson"]- Lincoln Southeast

A multi-sport athlete, Thompson showcased his athleticism this summer for OSA National Porter before heading back to the gridiron for Lincoln Southeast. At 6’4, Thompson uses his athleticism to his advantage when getting to the rim, as well as when defending opposing players, both of which he does well.

[player_tooltip player_id="958186" first="Andrew" last="Heffelfinger"]- Waverly

Heffelfinger was one of the best 3 point shooters I watched in person this summer, especially when it comes to in state players. When he gets going, he is very tough to stop. He is also a very smart player who rarely makes any mistakes.
