[player_tooltip player_id="765286" first="Ian" last="Burns"] New Trier 2021

The Michigan Wolverines preferred walk on commit played exceptionally well in a matchup against Rollins. Burns team got down double digits early but he led a blistering comeback mixing his attack with strong finishes at the rim. Ian is crafty as he keeps the defense off guard with his shifty movement. In the comeback attempt Burns hit a couple of threes as well. His team fell short in the end. Ian finished with 22 points.

[player_tooltip player_id="863603" first="Mikqwon" last="Jones"] Michelle Clark 2022

One half of the Jones brothers Mikqwon went to work in a fast paced track meet. Jones is a thick bodied wing who can get a rebound and take it full length of the court with a strong finish. Already holding two offers Mikqwon showed his strength to get to the rim at will. He is very strong and athletic and was a matchup problem. Paired with his brother who has similar skillset and motor Mikqwon can make noise this season in a big way.

[player_tooltip player_id="939052" first="Matas" last="Buzelis"] Hinsdale Central 2023

Matas had a slow start at first but picked things up as the game was going. He did some damage in the halt court. Knocking down shots when defenders closed out on him to short.

[player_tooltip player_id="920971" first="Phillip" last="Berryhill"] Curie 2021

Berryhill and his team were rolling from jump causing numerous turnovers and converting them into easy points. Phil is a versatile forward who made the game look easy on Sunday. He drove to the rim off two dribble moves often setting up teammates for layups or jump shots. Berryhill was unselfish and moved the ball well when he didn’t look to score. In what was a blowout game from the start to finish we look forward to seeing Berryhill’s continued growth on the court as they play tougher competition in the coming weeks.

[player_tooltip player_id="920941" first="Isaiah" last="Barnes"] and [player_tooltip player_id="765148" first="Ahamad" last="Bynum"] Simeon 2021

The high-major duo put on a dunk show as they rolled over their opponent. These two have been learning how to gel with each other for the upcoming season. It’s been very fun to watch.

Henry and a talented group of young 2024 prospects got it going early against one of the top south suburban squad. Henry’s soft pull up jumpers from mid-range and vision to make on the mark passes to cutting players was the recipe to knock off one of the areas better teams.
