Prep Hoops was all over the place this past weekend at the Big Shots Rock the Rock in Rock Hill, SC. Lets take a look at some kids from the State of Virginia who played in the event. The event was at the brand new Rock Hill Sports & Center Event which features 9 courts.

Pharoah Lassiter - Bethel HS (Hampton) - VA Venom Hughes (pictured on the front)

Lassiter can really fill it up in a hurry while on the floor. Lassiter gets most of his points attacking the basket. Lassiter did settle for a few jumpers today. Lassiter has great speed in the open court along with the ability to create off the bounce.

[player_tooltip player_id="798695" first="Bryson" last="Spell"] - Cape Henry Collegiate - Flight 22 Elite UA Rise 17

Spell 6’10 moves really well around the floor with his size. Spell recently joined the Flight 22 squad for this past weekend. Spell runs the floor well and works from block to block. Spell keeps the ball up high and has a nice touch from the foul line.

[player_tooltip player_id="798737" first="Jalen" last="Leftwich"] - Liberty Christian Academy (Lynchburg) - Big Shots Elite Tri-Cities 17U

Leftwich just brings consistency every time he plays the game. Leftwich is a swiss army-knive and does a bit of everything on the floor. Leftwich can defend multiple positions on the floor. Leftwich does most of his damage scoring the ball around the cup. Leftwich rebounds the ball well from his position. Leftwich logs a lot of minutes on the floor and never seems to leave the floor.

[player_tooltip player_id="957910" first="Kylon" last="Lewis"] - Thomas Dale HS (Chester) - Big Shots Elite WV 2021

Lewis a left-handed guard has great length and remains very active in the passing lanes. Lewis finishes on drives to the basket has the ability to play above the rim. Lewis really excels in the transition game while leaking out for some cheapies at times.

[player_tooltip player_id="798690" first="Matt" last="Nunez"] (2022) - Hargrave Military - VA Venom Hughes

Nunez recently reclassified into the 2022 class after playing at Walsingham Academy (Williamsburg) last season. Nunez will play at Hargrave Military this coming season Nunez has a soft touch around the basket and isn’t afraid to carve out space in the paint. Nunez can play face-up to the basket and extend the defense out to three point range. Nunez is great in a pick and pop situation. Nunez was able to score the ball today over both shoulders with his touch around the rim.

[player_tooltip player_id="815579" first="Tyler" last="Nickel"] (2022) - East Rockingham HS (Elkton) - Big Shots Elite WV 2021

Nickel recently joined the Big Shots Elite WV 2021 squad for this past weekend. Nickel a small forward has a physical frame and a great skill set on the floor. Nickel moves well with the ball around the floor and play multiple positions with his versatility. This was my first time seeing Nickel play this summer and he had been a member of Team Loaded VA before Covid-19 hit.

Evan Ramsey (2023) - Abingdon HS - Big Shots Tri-Cities 15U

Ramsey keeps to be improving with his play this summer. Ramsey 6’10 post player can really change the game on the defensive end with his ability to alter and challenge shots. Ramsey really works well from block to block and isn’t afraid to face-up from the elbow for a jump shot. Ramsey has a really good wing span and seems very coachable.
