It was a tremendous weekend of basketball in Minnesota at the PrepHoops Midwest Collision! There were quite a few Illinois teams in the house. Time to break down the prospects that shined. Here is our Midwest Collision: 2021 Illinois Stock Risers!

Enari Thomas (CD Elite)

This 6’1” Marshall combo guard has a thick and physical body. Uses his strength and burst on his initial step to get to the basket for scores on straight line takes. Solid mid-range game with his jumper. Also liked what he brought to the table on the defensive end. Got into his opponent crowding their space and creating turnovers.

Biggie Luster (Illinois Stars)

Luster is a 6’0” shooting guard with a long and angular frame. He is known as a three point threat especially off the catch. His hot spot when we saw him was the corners as he couldn’t miss from there. We have always been aware of what he could do as a shooter, but it was the other areas we needed to see growth at his height. Some of those questions were answered. He defended at a high level against bigger opponents. Uses his length and quickness to pressure them making his opponents uncomfortable. Slipped in for several rebounds flying in from the perimeter. Showed growth as a passer since we last saw him during the high school season.

[player_tooltip player_id="821824" first="Caleb" last="Corro"] (Sharks Basketball)

Corro is a high IQ point guard from St. Patrick. Really good passer in the half court that makes sound decisions with the ball. What we were impressed with was the growth of his perimeter shot. Drilled a few threes and a pull up jumper when we were watching. Tough kid that is a winner.

[player_tooltip player_id="921010" first="Josh" last="Harris"] (Sharks Basketball)

This Timothy Christian 6’3” shooting guard is an angular lefty that plays bigger than his height. High energy wing that is bouncy around the hoop getting on the offensive glass and scores a few junk points a game just off his tenacity. Runs the floor well in transition and has a sound shot mechanically.

[player_tooltip player_id="920972" first="Jaden" last="Terrell"] (Team RWA)

Terrell has positional size, length, athleticism, and skill. The Wheeling small forward has been putting it on the deck much better this summer. Slithers through the defense taking quality angles for scores. Runs the floor hard in the open court. His three point shot is a thing of beauty with a quick flick of the wrist on his three point shot.

[player_tooltip player_id="652746" first="Luke" last="Braman"] (HIT)

Braman had a couple strong outings when we saw HIT play. The 6’9” five man from Roanoke Benson has quality strength and utilized that to garner deep post position during the event. When he gets position deep in the paint he is a tough cover. Right handed hook shot is one of his go to moves. When playing physical he often draws fouls. Good area rebounder.

[player_tooltip player_id="920951" first="Odin" last="Lium"] (HIT)

Lium is an intriguing wing with size, length, skill, and athleticism. He showed the last one off more than we had previously seen in Minnesota. He ran the floor hard and was rewarded with dunks. Also displayed the ability to take it coast to coast himself. Most of the Oswego East wing’s damage when we saw him was done in transition.

Brandon Bryant (Illinois Jaguars)

Slick handling point guard that has long arms which makes up for his lack of ideal height. He was excellent getting to the cup off the bounce where he finished with acrobatic layups. Pushed it in transition and flashed as a passer. Sleeper guard in 2021.

Dae’Quan Davis (Illinois Outwork)

Davis is a power wing from North Lawndale that progressed as the summer went along. Creative scorer off the bounce with the strength to finish at the hoop. Also is a pretty solid three point shooter. Should develop into a quality defender.
