Maddox Alipate Maddox Alipate 6'1" | PG Benilde-St. Margaret's | 2022 State MN of Minnesota Fury Wilde (6’1, PG, Benilde-St. Margaret’s, 2022). In the parts of three games I saw Maddox run the Fury offense, I loved how he had the team working in such a cohesive way. The first pass each possession was right where it needed to be and Alipate then sprinted to spots and got right into being a playmaker or scorer. Had three scores and four assists in two of the games I looked in on.
Dane Meuler of Minnesota Heat Grow (6’0, Guard, East Ridge, 2022). Dane is a heady guard from East Ridge. Doesn’t wow you with size or athleticism but absolutely competes every possession. Makes the right plays and is a sneaky good finisher around the hoop. Was the Heat’s fearless player versus the D1 Minnesota 15s. Had 12 versus that team and followed that up with 20 points, seven rebounds, five assists, and three steals versus MN Crown. Very active on the defensive end.
BJ Omot BJ Omot 6'8" | PF Mankato East | 2022 State #231 Nation MN of D1 Minnesota (6’6, SF. Mankato East, 2022). By the end of the summer we may have BJ listed within every type of article we do here at Prep Hoops. Omot is a scorer and will be a contender for that stock riser/top performer list nearly every event he plays. What caught my eye this weekend though was BJ’s creation for other and efforts on the glass. He was a four-five bucket a game guy but when you add in the production pushing the ball, defending, boarding, and creating, it’s a guy playing all his roles well.
Blake Rohrer Blake Rohrer 6'2" | SG Woodbury | 2022 State MN of Minnesota Heat MacDonald (6’0, PG, Woodbury, 2022). You have to love the way Blake competes. If he doesn’t score one basket he still is out in front as the leader by the way he competes. Chased down eight boards in the loss versus the Comets, took care of the basketball, and sunk three triples. As I have said before but I love the way Blake controls a possession.
Johnny Tennyson Johnny Tennyson 6'3" | SG STMA | 2022 State MN of Minnesota Comets (6’3, Guard, STMA, 2022). Every time I see Johnny play I come away with things I like. In past years I’ve seen him play PG and liked the way he did that, this year he was needed in a duel threat and although STMA struggled Johnny was productive, and the Comets don’t need Johnny handling, he is rebounding at a high level (ten boards vs Heat Mac) plus he averaged 4-5 assists a game.
