Between clubs like EG10 and Indiana Game, collegiate prospects were very common and honestly fun to watch. 8 specific players caught my attention and are highlighted below.
Karson Colin (2023) Indiana Game Select- Colin has a nice frame for a 15U player. Stocky build in his arms. Defense is his strong point as he made several plays on the defensive end showing versatility. Able to guard either guard positions and found himself in the right place on help side to get a few blocks. Offensively he has some work to do, but with 3 more years to improve, Colin has a high ceiling right now.
Ryan Conwell Ryan Conwell 6'2" | SG Pike | 2022 State #155 Nation IN (2022) EG10 16U- Conwell impressed on both ends of the floor this weekend. Defensively is a lockdown defender on the perimeter. Offensively, has incredible speed off the breakdown. Patient when attacking the rim. Quick enough to get by and defenders and has nice awareness of where the help defense is when penetrating. In my opinion, was EG10’s best offensive player.
Cooper Farrall Cooper Farrall 6'5" | SF Culver Academy | 2023 State IN (2023) Indiana Game Select- One of the more intriguing prospects in my opinion as he currently stands at 6’5 and is quite big for a guard. Has the green light to shoot from almost anywhere on the perimeter. Shots weren’t really falling when I watched, but his footwork and form are smooth. Showed he can be a multi-level scorer, but especially impressed as a midrange and 3PT shooting specialist.
Antonio Lisenbee (2022) EG10 16U- Lengthy rim protector. While he was not the best scoring threat for EG10, Lisenbee does the dirty work and does it well. At 6’7, he already has tremendous length, but combine his elite vertical leap with the length and you have a very dangerous rim protector. Offensively is persistent and works his tail off on the offensive glass. Outworks others and gives himself opportunities to get second chance points.
J.J. Louden (2022) EG10 16U- One of several intriguing prospects from a championship 16U team. Good vision in the halfcourt, surveying the floor and getting his team out in transition. One of the better passers and has a high IQ. Good sized guard at 6’4.
Gabe Mcnary Gabe Mcnary 6'8" | PF Avon | 2021 State IN (2021) EG10 17U- Besides McNary and Sparks, there were very few true bigs that impressed me over the weekend. While I only caught a few minutes of McNary’s game, it was enough to see he has incredible potential at the collegiate level. Long and physical. Great rim protector that stays home and utilizes his length to disrupt shots. Ran the floor in transition and hustled back on the defensive end on breakaways.
Payton Sparks Payton Sparks 6'10" | C Winchester | 2021 State IN (2021) Midwest Basketball Club- The Ball State commit is an absolute giant for Midwest Basketball Club. At 6’10, Sparks physically was the biggest kid on the floor and was very tough to defend. Versatile and able to defend the perimeter and paint, Sparks was able to switch on screens and guard any position. He impressed offensively in pick-and-roll situations and has a nice soft touch at the rim when he is not dunking it.
Nevin White (2021) Southern Indiana Blaze- High hustle kid that impressed in the early game Saturday morning. Specialized in the drive and kick game, making the high decision when it came to making a good pass or finishing at the rim. On a team that is very talented, White was arguably the most athletic player on this Southern Indiana team on Saturday.
