As many in the prep hoops community are aware, the DMV is loaded with talent. Whether in the public or private ranks, college coaches have a plethora of targets to pursue. Below you will find, listed alphabetically by last name, 10 potential stock risers from the DC Metro Area’s 2023 class.

[player_tooltip player_id="957041" first="Thomas" last="Batties"] | Gonzaga (DC)

Versatility is the biggest selling point with [player_tooltip player_id="957041" first="Thomas" last="Batties"]. The lanky 6-foot-4 wing will likely see an uptick in minutes due to opportunities opening up in the frontcourt. Expect Batties to make a solid all-around impact throughout the upcoming season.

David "Tre" Bolding III | Coolidge (DC)

A long-limbed and athletic guard standing at 6-foot-2, David "Tre" Bolding III is an exciting young prospect coming up in the Colts program. He excels defensively, which is rare for a young player. Look for Bolding to take a big step forward in terms of consistent productivity next season.

[player_tooltip player_id="999655" first="Alex" last="Bokman"] | Freedom-South Riding (VA)

Considered one of the best shooters in Northern Virginia, [player_tooltip player_id="999655" first="Alex" last="Bokman"] impressed throughout his freshman season, drawing rave reviews from coaches and media alike. It will be interesting to see what he adds to his game this offseason.

[player_tooltip player_id="957040" first="Corey" last="Chesley"] | Good Counsel (MD)

One of the more highly touted freshmen to come into the WCAC, [player_tooltip player_id="957040" first="Corey" last="Chesley"] is a big-time athlete who is part of a talented young core at Good Counsel. Opportunities should arise on the wing with [player_tooltip player_id="900198" first="Montell" last="Cooper"] headed off to college and Chesley should be able to soak up some of those minutes.

Margad Choijilsuren | Fairfax (VA)

Margad Choijilsuren might have exceeded expectations with how well he played last year. Some of his best performances came in the biggest games of the season, which indicates that he won’t shy away from clutch moments in the future. Fairfax loses a ton of key guys from the past season so Choijilsuren will probably be asked to do a whole lot more, and based on what we’ve seen so far, he should be ready to deliver.

Nasir Coleman | Patriot (VA)

Coach Sherman Rivers has been telling us about his young point guard, Nasir Coleman, who is expected to take the reigns with Zack Blue graduating. The 5-foot-10 floor general has a chance to be one of the better finds of the upcoming season.

Anthony Davenport | Richard Montgomery (MD)

After spending a majority of his freshman campaign dominating the JV ranks, Anthony Davenport has built the confidence necessary to become a consistent contributor on varsity. A mobile big man who can score with his back to the basket, he will bring a different dimension to RM’s squad next season.

Marvin Guthrie | Bladensburg (MD)

Point Guard Marvin Guthrie spent his freshman season on varsity learning from the likes of [player_tooltip player_id="954068" first="Joseph" last="Lovelace"] and [player_tooltip player_id="902080" first="Damion" last="Harris"]. Coach Antonio Williams is excited about his potential thus leading us to believe he will break out next season.

Jayden Harris | Christ Chapel (VA)

Jayden Harris, younger brother of UNC’s Anthony Harris, is a 6-foot-3 left-hander who locks up defensively, can flat out score and should be one of the biggest breakout candidates on this list. He should only improve as he completes reps and continues to grow into his body.

[player_tooltip player_id="957051" first="Leo" last="Siegel"] | St. Albans (DC)

[player_tooltip player_id="957051" first="Leo" last="Siegel"] did not play a huge role as a freshman. The 6-foot-3 wing’s role was primarily that of a spot-up shooter, and with Mike Katsock no longer on the team, the Bulldogs will need someone to step up.
