There was a lot of incredible talent all weekend and was a great showcase of the elite talent the state of Texas has to offer. Be on the lookout for the rest of my in-depth analysis from this tournament!
Kolby Williams- Texas Takeover Kemp 17U
Kolby is a strong wing with real size and ability to move his opponents around. He is a force on the offensive and defensive boards and showed an ability to keep his defenders on his back and outleap them. He finishes well underneath the basket and can explode to the rim at a moment’s notice for highlight-reel finishes. He is a great post defender and rim protector for his size. His defensive instincts and ability to defend one through four should easily translate over to the next level.
Rodney Hunter- SABO Gold
Rodney is an incredible shooter, who moves very well without the ball. He is deadly off the catch and when he has the ability to get his feet set. He comes off pin-down screens and runs from corner to corner and all around the floor to confuse the defense. He is great at putting the ball on the floor after the defense has committed to getting up into him. He does not mind contact at the rim and finishes well with both hands.
Khi Watkis- Texas Takeover Major 17U
Khi is an incredible player with a real ability to score the basketball. He loves getting to his favorite spots in the midrange and showed a great and confident shot off the bounce. He shoots the ball incredibly well from all around the three-point line and is the definition of a three-level wing scorer. He is a good rebounder with his long frame and a natural ability to finish at the rim. He needs to add more strength to his game as well as a back to the basket game. He should be able to easily add some good post moves and work on becoming a threat to hit fadeaways to unlock more of his game.

– Taylor High School, Texas Takeover Elite Kemp
Jake is an athletic wing with the ability to handle the ball and put pressure on the defense in the full court. He is always looking to run and was great at pushing the tempo after a missed shot. He is able to get to the rack with ease, and finishes well and creatively around the rim. He was a standout player for his team, and was relied on to carry most of the scoring load for his team. His ability to shoot off the catch and off the dribble was very impressive and stood out. He is not a one-trick pony however, he excels at putting the ball on the floor and getting to the rack, especially when the defense comes out to contest hard. On defense, he moves his feet very well and uses his quick thinking to stay in front of defenders and draw charges.
