When evaluating talent at an early stage we look at potential with a mixture of what they can do now. Many players could peak early so we try and lean on the side of those that still have a high ceiling with not only growing their game but also physical growth.
Layton High School also has a trio in KJ Miller, Mekhi Martin and David Katoa that are good players.
Carter Doleac is another player that made our radar in this sneak peek as is Donovan Averitte.
In no particular order here are a few players that look like they can really develop into some ballers in the years to come.
Dutch Dowdell a player that will attend Olympus High School and hope to follow in his older brother Jeremy Dowdell’s footsteps. The kid can shoot the ball and with some openings at Olympus don’t be surprised if he finds himself on the court next season.
Brody Kozlowski is already 6’5 and has major skills. He has no fear as he is already trying to catch bodies in transition. Great looking shot and overall skill. Brody will attend Corner Canyon High School which has a lot of guards that will likely have to make room for this in-coming freshman because the kid can play.
Russell Gibson a 6’4 G headed to Wasatch Academy to play under newly tabbed coach Paul Peterson. Rush Gibby can play. He has elite vision with his unselfish play and can score at all three-levels already. Even if he doesn’t see much of the floor next season look for him to get better.
