Is team basketball even a thing anymore? It feels like we are all working and competing in silence, no fans, no teammates, just a gym, a ball, and a handful of guys training. While there are open runs in Memphis and Nashville on occasion, most of the work is done in groups. Today I asked the players themselves who is playing well. Who is getting better? What guys do you expect to surprise people in the coming season?

Who is getting better?

"Well, my twin brother [Will] has a really good chance. He has been working hard. -- Zach Amonett (Pickett County)

What guys do you expect to surprise people in the coming season?

"John Parker Reagen. He is a good leader." -- Zach Amonett (Pickett County)

"Hunter Wattenburger. He is a really good shooter. He works hard in practice. He is a great teammate." -- Zach Amonett (Pickett County)

"Probably as far as underclassmen go. Jackson Francis. He is going to be a rising junior. And Marcel Reed. He is going to be a rising sophomore." -- [player_tooltip player_id="537275" first="Miles" last="Versa"] (M.B.A.)

What skills of his impressed you the most?

[Malik Dia] "His shot has gotten a lot better, like creating his shot. He got way more physical." -- Gus Davenport (Cannon County)

[B.J. Edwards] I just have seeing him getting better. He is getting stronger. He is working on his shot more really. {How good can he be by say 25 years old?) I feel like he will be in the NBA by 25 (years old). -- [player_tooltip player_id="775574" first="Greg" last="Moore"] (Knoxville Central)

"2024 Brandon "Willby) Brandon Winton (Webb). I have known him since he was little. Getting stronger. He got a little big taller. He is probably about 6’1" or 6’2"." -- [player_tooltip player_id="775574" first="Greg" last="Moore"] (Knoxville Central)
