When you start hearing more and more about multiple teams from Section 7A in the coming years, it will be followed by the names in this article. The upcoming talent in 7A is thick.

Mountain Iron-Buhl. I’m sure by now you have heard about [player_tooltip player_id="962209" first="Asher" last="Zubich"], the All State freshman guard from last year that scored 31 points a game. Zubich has become an all around talent but let’s focus on the main thing here, the 6-foot-2 guard is a knock down shooter. He made 44 percent of his threes in grade eight and then 45 percent this past winter as a frosh, and Asher averaged five assists because he’s a strong passer. And let’s not forget about [player_tooltip player_id="962287" first="Nikolas" last="Jesch"] who scored 19 a game as the "second best" three-point shooter making 41 percent of his.

North Woods. [player_tooltip player_id="958846" first="TJ" last="Chiabotti"] will enter his junior year coming off an excellent season scoring 21 points a game for a top 15 squad in Class A. He and [player_tooltip player_id="774793" first="Darius" last="Goggleye"] (14 a game) will be the veterans but don’t forget that the support for this team is another pair of Chiabottis (Brendan and Jared). A pair of 2023 guards that scored 24 a game in support and with [player_tooltip player_id="846206" first="Trevor" last="Morrison"] graduated Brendan and Jared will step into bigger roles.

Deer River. The Warriors have huge expectations for next year because they have most of their line-up returning. [player_tooltip player_id="958848" first="Ty" last="Morrison"] is the team leader not just in scoring nearly 20 a game but in the way he distributes. Also a junior is [player_tooltip player_id="958851" first="Mikhail" last="Wakonabo"], a 6-foot guard that scored 19 a contest. The true youth is sophomore [player_tooltip player_id="962318" first="Sam" last="Rahier"], one of the quickest players in the north (he scored 13 a contest).

Fond du Lac Ojibwe. One of the top returning duos in all of Minnesota high school basketball is [player_tooltip player_id="962240" first="Jordan" last="Brown"], who will be a sophomore, and [player_tooltip player_id="958845" first="Conner" last="Barney"], a junior to be. Brown and Barney averaged nearly 51 points a game combined and as these underclassmen found their footing, their team took off! Fond do Lac Ojibwe knocked off Deer River by 23 in the playoffs which may be a taste of things to come.

Chisholm. The next standout from Chisholm? That has to be [player_tooltip player_id="958849" first="Jude" last="Sundquist"] who scored 19 per contest as a sophomore.
