Time to dive into our Region Ranking Series! In this series we will look at the best prospects from a specific area in the class of 2021! Here are our top Chicago Public League Prospects in the rising senior class!

#1 [player_tooltip player_id="765148" first="Ahamad" last="Bynum"] (Simeon)

Bynum is a DePaul commit who has been on the scene since his freshman season. The Simeon two guard is a microwave scorer that can flat out get buckets in bunches. Throughout his junior year he had several monster performances and will be a prime Mr. Basketball contender next season.

#2 [player_tooltip player_id="920941" first="Isaiah" last="Barnes"] (Simeon)

Barnes hasn’t played his first game in the CPS yet, but he already checks in at #2 after making the move to the Wolverines after playing his last two seasons at Oak Park River Forest. Barnes has emerged as one of the hottest prospects in the state racking up double digit high-major offers this spring.

#3 [player_tooltip player_id="652731" first="Ola" last="Ajiboye"] (Von Steuben)

Ajiboye is one of the top post prospects in the state in 2021. The long and thin four man can stretch the floor with his shooting and is an excellent rim runner in transition. Has a developing hook shot game around the hoop. His biggest strength is his defense with the way he protects the rim as a shot blocker.

#4 [player_tooltip player_id="920942" first="Grant" last="Newell"] (Whitney Young)

Newell has been waiting for his time for the Dolphins to be his team and with the graduation of a ton of seniors he is now the highest ranked senior in the program. What you have to like about Newell is the versatility he brings being able to space the floor, block shots, and run the court.

#5 [player_tooltip player_id="920945" first="Jaehshon" last="Thomas"] (Whitney Young)

Thomas was a role player last year with Steward and Beard in the backcourt. Now he and [player_tooltip player_id="939057" first="Dalen" last="Davis"] will run the show. Thomas is a strong combo guard that can get to the rim and has the potential to be a two way player at the next level.

#6 [player_tooltip player_id="652762" first="Darrion" last="Jones"] (Bogan)

This Bogan combo guard fits the mold of so many past Bengals stars at the point. He has a strong body and loves to bully his way to the rim for scores. Brings such a physicality and toughness to the position. Will be Bogan’s go to guy next year.

#7 [player_tooltip player_id="821756" first="Jeffery" last="Oakley"] (Corliss)

Oakley made the move over to Corliss from Perspectives for his senior season. He is one of the bigger sleepers in the CPS with his explosive scoring pop on the wing. Broke out with Team M.O.R.E. a year ago and showed continued growth during the high school season.

#8 [player_tooltip player_id="920953" first="Jalen" last="Houston"] (Hyde Park)

Houston is a fun player to watch. He excels in a fast paced environment where he can get out in the open floor pushing the pace. Very fast with the ball in his hands.

#9 [player_tooltip player_id="765212" first="Ismail" last="Habib"] (Lincoln Park)

Habib had his junior season robbed from him as Lincoln Park was taken out of the city and state tournament. He had his squad rolling looking like they could be a major threat in both events. Quick and shifty point guard that is a playmaker with the ball.

#10 [player_tooltip player_id="821783" first="Phillip" last="Holmes"] (Simeon)

Holmes showed flashes as a junior. The big man has good size and length. He is a prospect that more colleges talk about than casual hoops fans. Potential to be an impact rim protector and rebounder this season.

#11 [player_tooltip player_id="920971" first="Phillip" last="Berryhill"] (Curie)

Berryhill is a prospect that we have been waiting to breakout for a while. This could be the year. He has the physical tools that make him intriguing at the next level and shows upside in spurts. With Hinton gone now it is his chance.

#12 [player_tooltip player_id="821782" first="Dylan" last="Ingram"] (Simeon)

Ingram is a physical forward that plays as a small ball post for Simeon. At the next level he is a 3/4 combo that is primed for a big season.

#13 [player_tooltip player_id="920977" first="Reggie" last="Ward"] (Curie)

Ward is similar in many ways to Ingram. Both were blocked by upperclassmen last season as Ward was behind Savieon Williams. He is a big bodied forward that should provide versatility for Curie.

#14 [player_tooltip player_id="821775" first="Anes" last="Davenport"] (Morgan Park)

Davenport is a tough power forward that brings energy and rebounding to the table. Junk yard dog type of big man.

#15 [player_tooltip player_id="920986" first="Sincere" last="Malone"] (Corliss)

Out of everyone on this list Malone is the one that could move up the most during his senior season. Has a lot of projectable tools with his length and skill potential.

#16 [player_tooltip player_id="765264" first="Nick" last="Owens"] (Curie)

Owens runs the show for Curie. He split duties at the point for the CPS power last year, but now it is his team!

#17 Fredrick Poole (Simeon)

Poole had flashes as a junior with his perimeter scoring game for the Wolverines. Will be in the mix as one of their top guards this season for Simeon.

#18 [player_tooltip player_id="920982" first="Gary" last="Johns"] (Westinghouse)

Johns opened our eyes with his length and defensive versatility blocking shots and protecting the rim as a junior for Westinghouse.

#19 [player_tooltip player_id="821803" first="Norvell" last="Meadows"] (Orr)

Meadows should be the top scorer for Orr next season. This guard can put up buckets from the point guard spot!

#20 [player_tooltip player_id="920996" first="Julio" last="Montes"] (Lincoln Park)

Montes is a 5’9” point guard that has a nice floater game and brings quickness off the bounce. Decent passing feel for the Lincoln Park guard.
