With no spring and summer basketball going on we wanted to do a deep dive into the prospects across the state by reviewing their season long highlight tapes and giving our evaluation of their strengths as a prospect along with projected college level. Here is our Film Room: 2022 Chicago West Suburbs Prospects Pt 2!

[player_tooltip player_id="996075" first="Danny" last="New"] (Aurora Christian)

New is a 6’1” point guard that has decent length. As a sophomore he averaged 11.5 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 2.8 dimes a game. Good ball handler in the open floor that plays with creativity. Can score a little off the bounce with nifty layups. High release point on shot and is a solid spot up shooter. Really good small college prospect at this point.

Toby Onyekonwu (Plainfield East)

Onuekonwu is a 5’10” long and thin point guard. Pretty fluid three point shot. Creative layup maker that likes to use spin moves in the lane and reverse layups in the paint. Small college prospect.

https://www.hudl.com/video/3/13984575/5e8e51f664df1d0d109b6ee0

DaMahrion Murrell (Willowbrook)

Super tiny guard that is a crisp ball handler and plays with speed in the open floor. Range on his shot. Believe most clips were from sophomore team. Small college player.

https://www.hudl.com/video/3/14092150/5e83a7ed664be904a8f5d4c1

Brad Kuta (Naperville Central)

Kuta is a 6’2” shooting guard with a long and thin frame. Catch and shoot from three is his best asset at this stage. Mixed in some scoop shots. Looked like most of tape was from sophomore games. Small college player.

[player_tooltip player_id="996079" first="Drew" last="Meyers"] (Aurora Christian)

Meyers is a 6’0” shooting guard that can hit shots off the catch being particularly effective from the corners. Creative finisher at the hoop throwing his body around for finishes. Projects early on as a priority small college prospect.

https://www.hudl.com/video/3/14053897/5e892b13a019c10b8c895eed

[player_tooltip player_id="996084" first="Brady" last="Heckman"] (Benet)

Heckman is a 6’0” combo guard that is a shooting specialist. Most of the tape is from sophomore level games. He can shoot it from three and move off ball. Decent passer and willing to take charges. Smart and tough guard like most from Benet. Small college player.

https://www.hudl.com/video/3/13896070/5e80d7d7d225110c70b8387f

[player_tooltip player_id="996081" first="Trey" last="Keizer"] (Timothy Christian)

Keizer is a tough 6’2” shooting guard that can hit spot up shots. Crafty driver that isn’t a freak athlete, but has a knack for getting to the hoop. Tough and gritty wing that should find a home at the small college level.

https://www.hudl.com/video/3/13837971/5e8b7be1b018b707684be4b2

[player_tooltip player_id="863630" first="Ethan" last="Ivan"] (Batavia)

Ivan is a 6’4” small forward that is effective as a spot up shooter. The long and thin wing has a good looking three point shot. What I like about him is he makes quick decisions with the ball whether it is pass, shoot, or drive. The ball isn’t in his hands for a long time. Light on his feet running the floor. Quick to the offensive glass. Can put it on the deck better than I had previously seen. D2 prospect right now.

https://www.hudl.com/video/3/12794077/5e7d3a8490f9b106e804a5ae

Eric Locke (OPRF)

Locke plays bigger than his listed 6’3” height with his super long arms. Quick around the hoop getting on the offensive glass on a regular basis. His mobility and athleticism in the paint are his biggest assets. Dives well on the pick/roll. Can put it on the deck a couple times from the high post. D3 prospect that if he grows can fly up the list!

[player_tooltip player_id="925230" first="Zeke" last="Williams"] (Naperville North)

Williams is a 6’3” shooting guard that is super long! As a sophomore he averaged 11.2 points, 5.2 dimes, and shot 48% from three. High release on his jump shot with a quick release from catch to shot. Slick driver with creative handles and change of direction in the lane. Assertive moves when the ball touches his hands. Not a lot of wasted time. Plus athlete that contests perimeter shots on the defensive end. Williams should be on the radar of low-major and high D2 programs. Could definitely move up though!
