Continue ReadingJalen is a 6’5″ Combo Guard out of Little Rock, Arkansas. He attended Southwest Christian Academy Prep School last season. He is a long and athletic player who has a 6’10” wingspan. He has the toughness of a big down low but at the guard spot. He can run an offense as well as play off the ball. He has a tremendous upside as he can add some weight and muscle to his frame for the next level. He is good off the ball as well. Vocal prospect with a great motor. He scores the ball on all levels at a high clip. A very humble prospect off the court but a killers mentality within that 94 feet. He is a super tough on-ball defender and has great lateral movement. Super quick hands and solid IQ defensively. You can expect the recruitment of this promising prospect to take off big time. He will be one of the top 2022 prospects on the Prep Hoops Circuit this season. He is a top 3 prospect in his state.
I had the privilege of speaking with this Jalen.
Jalen what’s your GPA? I have a 3.6 on a 4.0 weighted scale. I also like the competitive aspect of the classroom to try to push myself to not just be one of the best students but to be the top student in my entire class.
What were your stats last season as a high school sophomore? I averaged 16.9 points per game, I also made All-State in the Texas Trinity League.
What is it that drives you to play basketball? I’m blessed by God and driven by my mindset to be the best player. I want to be the best to come out of Little Rock because a lot of people don’t come out of Little Rock and I want to give back to my community to show the next player that you can make it also.
What schools have you heard from and who has offered you? I have heard from SMU, Oral Roberts, Air Force, Arkansas State, and Elon. The school that has offered me so far is Oral Roberts. What areas of your game do you work really hard to improve? My basketball IQ mainly because you always can expand your understanding of the game, my strength to play with more physical prospects on the next level, my ball-handling, and my deep ball shot I want to stretch my shot out to the NBA range.
