With much of the circuit on hold due to the Covid-19 pandemic, highlighting players has become every more crucial. Many of these athletes have become adversely affected with a problem out of their control. Here in South Florida, I will carry on looking for more players who deserve an opportunity to have their names heard. Specifically, Miami-Dade has a laundry list of names as long as a CVS receipt.

Let’s take a closer look at list 4.0.

[player_tooltip player_id="953492" first="Ronaldo" last="Vescine"] - North Miami Pioneers

A floor general for North Miami, Vescine averaged 10.7 points, 4.2 assists and 1.9 steals per game for the Pioneers last season. The 2021 is skilled attacking the basket and will burn you with his jump shot if you give him too much space. Against Hollywood Hills, Vescine finished with 23 points on 7 of 10 from the field. The 5’11" point guard also accounted for five or more assists in 11 games. With his excellent vision to make the extra pass, Vescine will be heavily relied upon with the graduation of [player_tooltip player_id="552716" first="Carlos" last="Hart"] and Vee’Lesk Avin. With that in mind, his responsibility to make more plays should be on full display. You can check out his sophomore highlights by clicking here.

[player_tooltip player_id="818705" first="Taderrius" last="Davis"] - Miami Stingarees

At 6-foot-7, Davis is a rock solid interior player for the Stingarees. The 2021 averaged a steady 10.0 points, 9.3 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 2.7 steals per game. Ranging from the three to the five, Davis can be a plug-in play and make an instant impact on the floor on all of those levels. Against Jackson, Davis recorded 16 points, 18 rebounds and seven blocks. Overall, his athleticism and long wingspan will cause problems for defenders. The scary part is Davis is still growing and might grow to 6-foot-9. Other than [player_tooltip player_id="814905" first="Malik" last="Reneau"], Davis is as strong of a stretch four as we have here in Miami-Dade. Playing alongside 2021 [player_tooltip player_id="818674" first="Justin" last="Neely"], Davis has triple-double capability written all over him.

RJ Luis - Columbus Explorers

A combo guard, Luis averaged 14.9 points and 8.8 rebounds per game for Columbus last season. The 2021 posted a pair of 30-point games against Miami Beach (32) and Schoolhouse Prep (31). In both of those contests, Luis shot an impressive 25 of 40 from the field. At 6’4", Luis has good size compared to players at his position. Moreover, his trait to work on the glass is a huge boost to his stock. On the season, Luis finished with double-digit rebounds in ten games. Creating extra possessions and his scoring ability makes Luis a deadly player.

[player_tooltip player_id="953479" first="Joey" last="Brown"] - Westminster Christian Warriors

A 2021, Brown helped the Warriors to a 19-9 record after averaging 11.5 points and 5.1 rebounds per game. The 6’1" point guard played well against Florida Christian, scoring 20 points on 9 of 13 from the field. In addition, Brown collected ten rebounds against the Patriots. Overall, Brown scored ten or more points in 15 games for the Warriors and shot a respectable 51% from the field. A consistent player alongside [player_tooltip player_id="818716" first="Frankie" last="Idlett"], Brown should have a big senior year.

[player_tooltip player_id="953069" first="Neil" last="Schiff"] - Ransom Everglades Raiders

A 2021, Schiff put together some monster games for the Raiders this past season. The 6’1" guard scored 38 points against Mourning, 35 points against Pinecrest Prep and 31 points against Monsignor Prep. With wins in all of those games, Schiff shot a blistering 35 for 56 from the field. A back-court player with range, Schiff knocked down six or more 3-pointers in eight games for Ransom Everglades. Overall, the Raiders won 24 games with Schiff leading the team in scoring at 17.5 points per game. With his ability to score, Schiff can be a game-changer on the floor.
