Breaking down prospects No. 21-30 in the initial Prep Hoops Wisconsin player rankings for the class of 2023...

No. 21 [player_tooltip player_id="981005" first="Danny" last="Staskunas"] - West Allis Hale

Lead guard with really good positional size (6-2). Strong shooter and decision maker in the pick n’ roll. Strong handles with breakdown ability and sees the floor exceptionally well for his age.

No. 22 [player_tooltip player_id="981149" first="Braden" last="McGlothlin"] - Catholic Memorial

Averaged over five points per game during the 2020-21 season and shot 51 percent from 3-point range. The 5-foot-10 guard can play on and off the ball. Dangerous shooter who makes defenders pay for putting a hand down or being slow to rotate over.

No. 23 [player_tooltip player_id="981201" first="Levi" last="Birkholz"] - Lakeside Lutheran

Athletic, two-way guard with above the rim ability. Birkholz turns defense into offense and can do some exciting things in transition. Tough, hard-nosed rim attacker that plays strong and can finish through contact.

No. 24 [player_tooltip player_id="986915" first="Mekhi" last="Wesley"] - Milwaukee Golda Meir

Like his intensity on defense and isolation/transition scoring ability on offense. Averaged 7.5 points per game as a freshman. Gets after people up and down the floor and got better and better as the season wore on, scoring in double figures in five of Golda Meir’s final eight games.

No. 25 [player_tooltip player_id="963147" first="Austin" last="Herro"] - Whitnall

Was injured most of his freshman season, but had seen Herro play in some middle school stuff previously. Even if I’m projecting right now, conventional wisdom says that Herro will eventually get his way into a favorable spot in the rankings based on his bloodline.

No. 26 [player_tooltip player_id="981140" first="Dino" last="Cook"] - Milwaukee Madison

High-upside wing/forward with some exciting measurables. Cook has a very long 6-foot-4 frame and uses his length well on the block or in the paint. Active on the defensive end, able to scrap for loose balls, protect the rim, and grab contested rebounds. Perimeter skills need to catch up, but Cook is a reliable 3-point shooter when left open.

No. 27 [player_tooltip player_id="963146" first="Logan" last="Arndt"] - Oconomowoc

Very active, high-motor guard that contributes in a lot of ways. Could be a 3-and-D type prospect as Arndt is able to get hot from distance, add a little flash as a facilitator, and impact the game defensively. Played JV, but was a high scorer for Oconomowoc as a freshman. Also saw Arndt play well at the Prep Hoops Top250 camp last fall.

No. 28 [player_tooltip player_id="981129" first="Jace" last="Krueger"] - Living Word Lutheran

Looks to be a do-it-all type prospect. Needs to grow (6-1), but Kreuger has the makings of a point forward, able to control the game from the perimeter. Likes to handle the ball and survey the floor. Also a stretch wing, Krueger knocked down 18 triples in 19 games as a freshman while averaging just shy of five points per game.

No. 29 [player_tooltip player_id="981148" first="Qiandre" last="Washington"] - Kingdom Prep

Averaged 11 points per game for Milwaukee Juneau last season. A lightning-quick lead guard, Washington also dished out three assists per contest. The 5-foot-11 freshman has the ball on a string and is very tough to keep out of the paint.

No. 30 [player_tooltip player_id="981194" first="Sam" last="Bess"] - Janesville Parker

Athletic wing who’s also a knockdown shooter, Bess averaged 6.6 points per game for the Vikings. He made 12 of his 29 3-point field goal attempts and also averaged 3.6 rebounds per game. Has a frame, body type, and skillset to develop into a dynamic wing/guard prospect down the road.
