It’s May but there are a lot of college basketball teams still looking for talent. That’s good to know because there are still Minnesota players looking for a college for next year! Here is the Minnesota Best Available list.

Top Five Ball-Handlers

One. [player_tooltip player_id="549410" first="Agwa" last="Nywesh"] of Austin (6’3). Awga was committed to Idaho State but has since changed his mind on that decision. Nywesh is the best available high school basketball player in the state of Minnesota right now coming off a 15 point, five assist per game season. Nywesh can play both guard spots for a team and is experienced in a zone trapping defensive system. He is a dynamic passer and one of the best passing lane jumpers you will see. Well coached at Austin by Kris Fadness and a hard working young talent.

Two. [player_tooltip player_id="721909" first="Jordan" last="Jones"] of Columbia Heights (5’10). The Conference Player of the year, Jones is one of the unsigned senior standouts that we’ve noted from our recent Minnesota Open Period (22 winter high school games watched the previous two weekends that we had not seen, but watched in place of what should of been the open period). Jones is an explosive scoring talent with quickness that few can match. Jones has a Ja Morant style game in a shorter frame. Has scholarship level agility and scoring gifts that can be developed.

Three. [player_tooltip player_id="721976" first="Lovell" last="Williams"] of Maple Grove (6’2). Williams pushed Maple Grove to another section championship with the type of decision making that earns the respect of teammates and opponents alike. Last we heard some D2 schools were looking into bringing him to their program while D3 schools were hoping Williams comes to their league. Williams numbers are the type that regularly chart out as high percentage shooting, quality assist to turnover ratio.

Four. [player_tooltip player_id="721869" first="Amir" last="Whitlock"] of DeLaSalle (6’0). Whitlock impressed enough over the last dozen months to have IVY League schools call on him and to have division two coaches attending and scouting out his games. In every Islander game we saw this year Whitlock was an instant momentum booster on both ends.

Five. [player_tooltip player_id="846156" first="Gavin" last="Vosika"] of BOLD (6’0). Gavin led BOLD to number one in Class A most of the year averaging 18.8 points, 8.5 rebounds, seven assists, and 3.6 steals a game shooting 50 percent from the floor!
