The Minnesota Comets group coached by the local AAU world’s Coach K is a solid bunch. Here is K’s group of talent for 2020.

Wyatt Blaksvedt of STMA (6’3 SG). Wyatt came off the bench to score once or twice a contest and provide defense at both wing spots.

Trenten Cavaness of MACCRAY (6’4 PF). Trenten will be a low post threat for the Wolverines coming off his 15 point, nine rebound per game junior year. Cavaness can even face up with some range which for this team fits right in, although they will need Trenten’s rebounding in a big way.

Gus Gunderson of Sartell (5’11 PG). Gunderson is a top 150 player in this senior class coming off a 15 point per game season for Sartell. Gunderson is a slippery guard that mixes ball fakes and hesitations into high percentage attacks. Acrobatic finisher as well.

[player_tooltip player_id="774813" first="Andrew" last="Hahn"] of Albany (6’4 PF). Hahn is the dancing bear with a strong low base to catch and score with great footwork. A nice face-up touch and he can finish with either hand deep in the paint. Scored ten a game for a good Albany team.

[player_tooltip player_id="774825" first="Zach" last="Jackson"] of Lester Prairie (6’3 SF). Jackson is the player that can swing between playing the two, the three, and the four if needed because he’s an excellent passer with a great understanding of the halfcourt game. Quality shooter that scored 13 a game and one of the better players moving off the ball you will see. Top 115 kid.

[player_tooltip player_id="774826" first="McHale" last="Korf"] of Pelican Rapids (5’11 PG). A top 100 player in the state, Korf scored 13 points a game for a Pelican Rapids team that was mostly juniors and had a great year. McHale swings between playing lead guard and quarterback for the Vikings as an outstanding passer in both sports.

Jayden Rutherford of Pelican Rapids (5’10 Guard). Korf and Rutherford will be one of Minnesota’s better senior guard combos next year and they will get a head start by playing on Comets K together. Rutherford started games as the off-guard and then handled as well. Scored 11 a game.

Evan Templin of Sartell (6’2 SG 2022). A high IQ younger player on this team that will bring the team yet another shooter. Templin would actually qualify in the area of shooting specialist. He scored 3-4 buckets a game at Sartell this season.

[player_tooltip player_id="774772" first="Jake" last="Wald"] of Legacy Christian (5’11 Guard). Wald is a top 125 player in Minnesota coming off an 18 point per game season. Jake can handle the ball but his biggest asset is his ability to knock down shots in a variety of ways.
