1) NESTOR DYACHOK | BISHOP WALSH | OVERALL RANK: #38
Dyachok is a 6-foot-7 forward from Russia who can space the floor and helps out on the boards. He is still acclimating to the style of play in the U.S. but has shown signs of promise. Dyachok’s ceiling is high and he is still working towards reaching it.
2) MAURICE JOHNSON | CESAR CHAVEZ | OVERALL RANK: #43
Johnson broke out this year, averaging over 30 points per game to lead the DC Metro Area. He’s a long and athletic forward who can do just about everything well on the court.
3) AARON LEWIS | LANHAM CHRISTIAN | OVERALL RANK: #44
Lewis had a great season at Lanham Christian. The skilled inside-out scoring threat showcased an improved jumper but also did his due diligence defensively.
4) HENRIKAS KALNIUS | NEW HOPE | OVERALL RANK: #50
A 6-foot-7 forward from Lithuania, Kalnius is known for his ability to shoot from long distance. There simply aren’t many at his size who can match his shot-making proficiency.
5) THOMAS WHITLEY | ELEANOR ROOSEVELT | OVERALL RANK: #58
Whitley is a versatile 6-foot-6 forward who can score inside and out. He’s a good athlete and a versatile defender who plays with a high motor. Whitley had a relatively quiet season, but he offers a lot of upside and is a strong breakout candidate next season.
6) MIKE WOODS | DOUGLASS-PG | OVERALL RANK: #70
Woods was one of the top breakout performers of this season, leading a strong Douglass team in scoring on many occasions. The 6-foot-5 forward was best in transition where his craft was on full display.
7) CHRIS MATEO | DUNBAR | OVERALL RANK: #85
Mateo primarily operates on the wing, but at 6-foot-5 is versatile and vigilant enough to play the 4. He is a talented shot-maker and an active defender who plays with a relentless motor.
8) SPENCER TYSON | SIDWELL FRIENDS | OVERALL RANK: #110
Tyson’s impact on the game goes beyond the numbers. He is the type of player who you hate to play against but love to have on your team. Tyson’s overall game is predicated on making the hustle plays that no one else enjoys making, but he has a sneaky skill set that is growing as he develops.
9) JALEN CURTIS | GOOD COUNSEL | OVERALL RANK: #112
Curtis is a very good athlete who plays much bigger than he is. He gained valuable experience as a key rotation player for an improved team this year and his confidence should only grow moving forward.
10) ELIJAH BROWN | LANHAM CHRISTIAN | OVERALL RANK: #115
Brown is a workhorse forward who prides himself on efficiency. He doesn’t need plays called for him as he knows where the gaps are in opposing defenses and stations himself in places where he can score quickly upon receiving the ball.
