The returning talent of the Princeton Tigers stepped forward to match last year’s success with a very similar season, and another Mississippi 8 title.

The Review

At the Top – The steps taken forward from the Princeton basketball program were not from the 2019 senior class alone, it was a program wide step forward the last few seasons. Princeton went 27-5 last year and would of matched that loss total a year later had the state tournament been played this year. At 25-4 they could of even moved past last year’s team had they won the gold.

The Surprise – The first surprise was that I had Rogers in the league instead of Becker in my preseason preview. I’m not at all sure how that happened. The second surprise was the five win season of Big Lake who I expected to be much better.

What Happened? - Princeton beat Cambridge for the conference title by a single game (13-1 record to 12-2). The teams played twice in a four day span with Princeton winning 78-72 in double overtime and Cambridge winning the first game 100-89. The Cambridge loss to St. Francis is what stopped the league from being a 13-1 tie.
