In these different times ,some class of 2020 kids are still available. Surprisingly this is a very good group, still out there. So after this article, I will move on to the future classes of players. Which are loaded on Long Island and the city. I just want to make sure that players ready to play at the next level get their names out there. This group can make an immediate impact to a program.
ISIAH WALKER. 6”3. SR BALDWIN H S
A very hard worker. Does a lot of the dirty work, that leads to wins. Can also stuff the stat column. This past season, he avg 10ppg and 10 rpg. Also had 3 assists a game and 2 steals. On a team, that won Nassau County before the cancelation of the Long Island championship. He is a great defender and not afraid to sacrifice his body noticed by the 36 charges he took. Dii,diii and Junior colleges have shown interest.
KAMANI JONES. 6”0. SR. BALDWIN H S
Lights out shooter. Hit 62 threes in 22 games. Led the Nassau champs in scoring . It is very helpful when your leading scorer is also a very good defender. Dii and diii checking in.
JAYDEN MCKENZIE. 5”9. SR. BALDWIN H S
Very good defender who gets to the lane and can finish . But he also gets the ball to his teammates in the right spots. Will really help a dii diii junior college program shown by scoring his career high of 24 points in the championship game.
LANCE HENRY. 5”11 SR. BALDWIN H S
In 22 games he had 40 threes. Can score in many ways. Smart player on the court and relays that to the classroom . Very good grades, dii and diii interest.
TREVAN BLACKETT 6”2 SR BALDWIN H S
Very athletic player who gets to the rim and finishes through contact. Coach said he was the MVP the second half of the year . Diii and junior colleges interest.
COLIN CASSARA 5”10 SR NEWFIELD H S
Zero maintenance for this special player on and off the court. Great student with GPA of 94. On the court 23ppg. Really good defender and extremely athletic. Local diii are all in.
SEAN WALSH 6”3 SR NORTHPORT H S
A solid scorer from inside or out. Has great range but also possesses a nice floater in the lane. Over 900 points in his H S career. His game is still improving. Dii or diii plus he might go the prep route. Wherever he goes he will help the program .
WILLIE FORD 6”2 SR ST DOMINICS H S
Willie can shoot the three. But that’s not the best part of his game . He can get to the basket anytime he needs too,off the bounce. He plays through contact. An extremely athletic player with quick feet. He has local diii interest. But is a player dii should look into.
KOBE THOMAS 6”4 SR ST DOMINICS H S
Kobe can play on both sides of the ball. He gets his hands in the passing lanes. Can play with his back to the basket or drill the three. His skill set plus his high energy makes him a nice addition to a dii program. Local Diii are all over him and would be a major player at this level.
AVERY LAURON 5”7 SR ST DOMINICS H S
Avery missed all of last season. His senior year. He was projected to be the starting point guard. A playmaker who can create for others . Very good on the ball defender. Is rehabbing from the injury and would not be surprised to see him on a diii roster come the fall.
DARIEN MATTHEW 5”11 SR ST DOMINICS H S
A sparkplug type player. Can score in bunches. Can get into the lane. On the ball or off the ball he is equally as good on defense. Diii type player
CHRIS NEWMAN 6”1 SR ST DOMINICS H S
Very good shooter. Catch and shoot really good. Can be a diii player because of his ability to shoot it.
We will now turn our attention to the future classes. Look for my reports in the next few days. But we will continue to monitor the class of 2020 so no player goes unnoticed.
