The 2022 class is filled with big-time talent. [player_tooltip player_id="787610" first="Zion" last="Cruz"] is one of the most electric guards in the class, while [player_tooltip player_id="850664" first="Mark" last="Armstrong"] and [player_tooltip player_id="850662" first="Will" last="Richardson"] both have high major offers. [player_tooltip player_id="787655" first="Jayden" last="Pierre"] has already hit a game-winner in a state final game, while [player_tooltip player_id="787669" first="Corey" last="Floyd Jr"]. has been a key member for Roselle Catholic in the last two seasons. With all the big-time talent at the top of the rankings, there is going to be players who fly under the radar. Here are the top newly ranked sleeper prospects in the 2022 class.

[player_tooltip player_id="931028" first="Jack" last="Seidler"], 6’5 SF Marlboro

The Mustangs were a buzzer-beater away from taking home the Central Jersey Group 4 title. They were led by the Shore Conference’s leading scorer [player_tooltip player_id="896675" first="Alex" last="Ratner"], but Seidler was the reason Marlboro almost beat South Brunswick. The 6’5 forward was tough to stop inside as he used his size and length to get shots off down low. Seidler can attack the basket from the perimeter and has a range that extends to the three-point line. Marlboro will miss Ratner next season, but Seidler’s ability to impact the game down low puts the Mustangs in a good spot for 2020-21.

[player_tooltip player_id="931029" first="Chase" last="Clarke"], SF Newark Academy

Newark Academy was not a basketball powerhouse in 2019-20, but Clarke was still a force all season. The electric sophomore had nine 30-point games this season, including a 50-point performance against Cristo Rey. Clarke is at his best attacking the basket and can finish through contact. He is a tough rebounder down low and is a solid shot-blocker. Clarke is a big-time performer who should be on everyone’s radar after a monster sophomore campaign.

[player_tooltip player_id="931031" first="Isiaha" last="Dickens"], 6’7 PF Hun

Dickens is a physical power forward who plays with a high basketball IQ. The 6’7 forward has a strong frame and knows how to use it down low. Dickens can put the ball on the floor and is an underrated passer. He is a solid rebounder and moves his feet well on defense. Dickens has a good chemistry with classmate [player_tooltip player_id="901969" first="Daniel" last="Vessey"], which makes Hun a more dangerous team in 2020-21.

[player_tooltip player_id="931022" first="Drew" last="Greene"], 5’9 PG Cherry Hill East

The Cougars surprised many with their run to the South Jersey Group 4 final. Jake Green was one of the top shooters in the state with 102 made three-pointers, but Greene ran the show for Cherry Hill East. The 5’9 guard always plays with his head up and is one of the most underrated passers in South Jersey. Greene makes plays when he gets into the lane and can bury shots from distance when given space. Cherry Hill East is a young squad who could breakout in 2020-21 behind Greene’s play at the point.

[player_tooltip player_id="931027" first="Alex" last="Bauman"], 6’4 SF Red Bank Catholic

The Caseys lose Notre Dame commit [player_tooltip player_id="896654" first="Kevin" last="Bauman"] to graduation, but younger brother Alex is ready for a bigger role next season. The 6’4 forward is a good ball-handler and uses his strong frame to draw contact around the basket. Bauman is also a solid passer and works well with classmate Cyril Arvantis. His length, athleticism and quickness makes him one of the better defenders in the Shore Conference. Bauman’s collegiate career may be on the gridiron, but he is still a big-time performer on the hardwood.
