2021 Jayden Meeker (Mount Vernon)
The masked man contributes across the board for the Mustangs coming off the bench, averaging 5.1 points, 2.3 rebounds, 2.0 assists and a steal a game. He’s long, tough and can score from all three levels. He’ll need to continue to be highly productive off the bench if Mount Vernon is going to make a deep run next week.
2021 Joe Brown (Norwalk)
Bowen Born Bowen Born 5'11" | PG Norwalk | 2020 State #401 Nation IA and Tyler Johnson account for a huge chunk (nearly 69%) of the Warriors scoring, but they have a number of players who chip in a little each night. Brown, a 6-4 junior forward, is a highly efficient option who averages 4.0 points on 68.8% shooting. He’s long, active on the glass and finishes at the rim off of Born feeds or offensive rebounds. He’ll need to help control the glass for Norwalk, and could have a big week.
2021 Mike Potter (Clear Creek-Amana)
The 6-1 junior wing had a big night in the Clippers’ substate final win over Assumption, scoring 20 points on 7-8 shooting to go with 9 rebounds. He’s a slashing wing who doesn’t shoot it from deep often, but has good strength and finishing ability at the bucket. The Clippers have a number of scoring threats, and a big week from Potter, who averages 8.9 points a game, would go a long way towards CCA making a run.
2022 Parker Elder Parker Elder 6'4" | SF Pella | 2022 State IA (Pella)
The 6-3 sophomore is blessed with outstanding length and athleticism, and is bound to provide a highlight or two next week. His offensive skill set is still a work in progress, but he flies around the court on the defensive end, attacks the glass and finishes above the rim. He’s averaging 5.7 points and 3.0 rebounds off the bench for the Dutch, but could have a big week showcasing his athleticism and versatility.
2022 Kale Krogh (Ballard)
A 6-5 sophomore forward, Krogh has paired well with dynamic combo forward Connor Drew Connor Drew 6'6" | PF Ballard | 2021 State IA in the Bombers’ frontcourt this season. He has blocked a team-high 45 shots and averages 7.0 points on 60.3% shooting. His rim protection and size at a young age make him intriguing, and he is certainly a player we’re looking forward to getting a closer look at.
2021 Trey Johannes (Center Point-Urbana)
The 6-4 forward looks like he doesn’t have a care in the world when he’s on the court, but he’s been extremely productive coming off the bench for the Stormin’ Pointers during postseason play, averaging 13 points on 75% shooting and 67% from 3. On the season he averages 7.5 points with 60-39-61 shooting splits. If he can continue his strong postseason production, he’ll be a name that lots of people know by the end of next week.
2022 Will McLaughlin (Harlan)
A 6-3 forward who does almost all of his damage around the rim, McLaughlin has blocked a team-high 26 shots and will need to be a force in the paint if the Cyclones are going to attempt to slow down high-scoring Bowen Born Bowen Born 5'11" | PG Norwalk | 2020 State #401 Nation IA and Norwalk.
2021 Majok Majouk (Sergeant Bluff-Luton)
A long, 6-7 combo forward with the ability to stretch the floor, Majouk has the type of length and skill set that will intrigue college coaches. He averages 6.8 points on 50-34-72 splits, and is second on the team in rebounding. If he can use his size and length to make an impact on the defensive end and showcase some of his offensive skill set, he’ll see his stock rise quickly.
