The Shore Conference was one of the deepest in the state. Manasquan won the Shore Conference Tournament and their state sectional title. Holmdel and Neptune also made it to the finals of their state sectional tournament. There is plenty of talent in all grades in the Shore. After the incredible season, here are the players who earned All-Conference selections by Prep Hoops.

First Team

[player_tooltip player_id="901942" first="Ben" last="Roy"] (2022) | Manasquan

This was an easy decision. Roy was selected as the Shore Conference Player of the Year as a sophomore. He led Manasquan to a record of 31-1. Roy was a complete point guard. He is an elite scorer who can get to the rim or shoot from deep. Roy is a player that put his name on the map from the beginning of the season and it will be there for the next two years. Do not be surprised to see his name in many recruiting reports following his sophomore season.

[player_tooltip player_id="896636" first="Najae" last="Hallenbeck"] (2020) | Toms River North

Hallenbeck was the most dominant player in the Shore this season. The 6’7 center averaged 21.3 points and 12.2 rebounds per game in his senior season. He was a big man with a soft touch around the rim and out near the three-point line. Hallenbeck is a standout on the football field for Toms River North protecting the quarterback in the fall and he continued his athletic success in the winter.

[player_tooltip player_id="896675" first="Alex" last="Ratner"] (2020) | Marlboro

Marlboro was not a deep team this season. They found success behind their star point guard. Ratner averaged 21.9 points per game and was one of the top scorers in the conference with 656 total points. Ratner scored 30 or more points six times this season. He was a shifty guard that used his elusiveness to get to the rim and draw contact. He knocked down 126 free throws as well. Ratner will graduate off one of the best seasons in Marlboro history.

[player_tooltip player_id="896630" first="Jakari" last="Spence"] (2020) | Toms River North

Spence was a pure scorer in every definition of the word. He finished with 616 points this season which helped him become the all-time leading scorer in Toms River North’s history. He scored 21.2 points and dished out 6.2 assists per contest. Spence was a lightning quick guard with the ball in his hands and had a quick trigger from anywhere on the floor. His decision making was not perfect at times, but his skill and athleticism made up for it.

[player_tooltip player_id="929541" first="James" last="Anderson"] (2020) | Middletown South

Middletown South won 19 games in a row in the middle of the season. They were led by the hot shooting of Anderson. He was one of the state’s top three-point shooters with 96 made. He scored 18 points per game to help lead the Eagles to 26 wins.

[player_tooltip player_id="901941" first="Elijah" last="Perkins"] (2022) | Ranney: Perkins emerged as the next star of Ranney this season. As a sophomore, Perkins used his size and skill to score and rebound at a high level.
