This year’s junior class saw plenty of players have breakout seasons this winter, and today Prep Hoops details those 2021 prospects whose stock rose the most during the high school season!

[player_tooltip player_id="957131" first="Cal" last="Greene"] (6’6 2021 W, Mahtomedi)- Not too many players looked more improved this year than [player_tooltip player_id="957131" first="Cal" last="Greene"]. The 6’6 wing saw the floor in just eight varsity games as a sophomore, and developed into a 13 ppg starter for a well-balanced Mahtomedi team. Cal is long, can jump out of the gym, and has a smooth stroke from beyond the arc. He impressed all season long with explosive dunks, finishes through contact, and tough shots off the bounce. Cal now looks the part of a scholarship level prospect, ranked #19 in our recently updated 2021 rankings.

[player_tooltip player_id="957231" first="Anthony" last="Martin"] (6’2 2021 G, Minneapolis South)- [player_tooltip player_id="957231" first="Anthony" last="Martin"] broke out this year as one of the Minneapolis City Conference’s top scorers! The 6’2 shooting guard has solid size to play at the next level, and a versatile scoring arsenal making him dangerous anytime the ball is in his hands. Anthony averaged 17.3 ppg, with highs of 30, 28, and 26. He displayed a smooth stroke from beyond the arc, the ability to knock down mid-range jumpers off the bounce, and is a crafty finisher going up in traffic. He made his debut in our 2021 rankings at #192, with the potential to rise over the next year.

[player_tooltip player_id="774868" first="Chance" last="Fazio"] (6’11 2021 C, Fergus Falls)- The 2021 class is loaded with size at the 4/5 spots, and [player_tooltip player_id="774868" first="Chance" last="Fazio"] is looking like a name to know towards the top end of that group. Turning into a double-double machine this year, [player_tooltip player_id="774868" first="Chance" last="Fazio"] is a big-bodied throwback center who has the size to back down defenders with ease and a soft touch to finish around the rim. Defensively he absorbs contact around the rim, keeping his arms straight up to avoid fouling and blocking or disrupting every attack that comes his way. Though not the fastest player, Chance hustles to move his feet when forced to come out of the paint and hedge on screens. Now ranked 33 in the 2021 class, Chance has a high ceiling if he can continue to improve his game.

[player_tooltip player_id="774807" first="Evan" last="Boyd"] (6’2 2021 G, DeLaSalle)- Playing as part of a deep guard group at DeLaSalle, Evan’s numbers aren’t eye catching at 6.7 ppg, but if you watch him play you’ll understand why he’s a top-55 player in the 2021 class. With a stroke as smooth as they come, Boyd knocks down catch-and-shoot threes, and is a dangerous scorer off the bounce from mid-range. Defensively he brings everything you’d expect from a DeLaSalle guard; energy and effort. DeLaSalle graduates a handful of their top contributors this year, and [player_tooltip player_id="774807" first="Evan" last="Boyd"] looks more than ready to become a major scoring threat as a senior.

[player_tooltip player_id="957153" first="Andrew" last="Chisley"] (6’6 2021 F, Hopkins)- Though Hopkins primarily opted to run with an all-guard lineup, [player_tooltip player_id="957153" first="Andrew" last="Chisley"] made the most of his time on the floor, catching our eye as a solid forward prospect. At 6’6 with a sturdy build, Chisley is a physical rebounder who battles on the glass on both ends of the floor. Offensively he’s efficient finishing around the rim off dump-off passes, and creates second chance opportunities with his efforts on the glass. He averaged 3.8 ppg with a season high of 11 against Park Center, and debuts in the 2021 rankings at #77.

[player_tooltip player_id="567035" first="Will" last="Tschetter"] (6’8 2021 F, Stewartville)- [player_tooltip player_id="567035" first="Will" last="Tschetter"] has been near the top of the state rankings since his freshman season, but established himself as the #2 prospect in the class after leading the state in scoring with 1,043 points (33.6 ppg). There’s not much that Will can’t do on the offensive end, as he’s a three point shooting threat, has nimble footwork in the paint, can power through contact, and can create his own looks off the bounce. Add in explosive finished going up off two feet, and Tschetter looks the part of a high-major forward prospect. Currently holding a handful of D1 offers, look for high major schools to start getting involved in his recruitment.

[player_tooltip player_id="957198" first="Bryce" last="Boyd"] (6’4 2021 W, Holy Angels)- [player_tooltip player_id="957198" first="Bryce" last="Boyd"] emerged as a third scoring threat for Holy Angels this year, impressing as an athletic slashing wing. At 6’4 with long arms and fluid athleticism, Bryce produced on both ends this year scoring 11.5 points per game while also chipping in 3.8 rpg and 1.3 spg. Capable of guarding multiple positions on the floor, Bryce uses his long arms to deflect passes and get out into transition where he’s a strong finisher around the rim. Currently ranked #109 in our new 2021 rankings.
