Rose Hill defeated Parsons in the opening game (61-57); Augusta followed with a win over Ottawa (53-41); Piper defeated Buhler (71-52); and Bishop Miege won over Andale (65-61).
The Kansas High School Activities Association announced on Thursday the remaining state tournament games will not be played.
DaQuan Johnson, 6’0, G, 2020, Parsons
Also a standout football player at Parsons, Johnson is a strong, athletic guard who can play an inside-out brand of basketball when necessary. He rebounds exceptionally well, is able to defend bigger players, and is a skilled offensive player. He can knock down outside shots, but is at his best creating offense for himself and others off the bounce.
Ryan Andrews, 6’0, G, 2021, Augusta
Andrews is a strong guard who works hard at the defensive end of the court. He is able to come up with timely steals, wall off opposing players and use turnovers to start the break. He runs the floor well and is a strong finisher in the open floor. Andrews can knock down open outside shot and can handle the point.

A top-notch competitor, Biermann is a terrific lead guard who works hard to get his team in its offensive sets, plays solid defense and can make big shots. He had several key moments for Andale against Bishop Miege, including a pair of 3-pointers on a single possession, as he showed off a quick release on his outside shot.

Gollier is a strong, physical guard with terrific size at 6’4. He has the ability to impact a game in multiple ways, including bringing a versatility to the defensive end of the court, able to guard multiple positions. On offense, he can handle the ball, play the point, play off the ball, and score in a variety of ways. He moves well away from the ball and is an unselfish type performer.

Hernandez is slight of build and has a thin frame, but he plays with heart and works hard at both ends of the floor. He moves his feet well at the defensive end of the court and can wall off offensive players and uses his length to his advantage. He is a crafty ballhandler and has the ability to make floaters and runners in the lane. Hernandez is also a strong outside shooter.
