The Prospect Insider takes an in-depth look and provides personal interviews with future
prospects and gives you the opportunity to get to know the athlete. JACOB STUCKEY an unsigned senior, and 4 – Year Varsity Letterman from Centennial High School. Obviously, people notice his ability to shoot the basketball with incredible accuracy as well as his 6′-8” frame, but as stated by his high school coach, one does not readily see that he is caring, compassionate, incredibly personable, and unselfish.
When asked about his outlook on this season, Jacob didn’t hesitate to express his excitement of being a senior and quickly talked about his team’s growth as a family and how much fun they have as a group. Stuckey says his high work ethic combined with his speed sets him apart from others playing the same position. With a GPA of 4.01, SAT score of 1050, and a class rank of 58/380, it is evident that he is focused on his grades and gives 100% in whatever he does.
Jacob is highly motivated and driven by the support of his family, who pushes him to be the best and it gives him the confidence to play hard in each game. He feels his playmaking skills with and without the ball in his hand has improved this season.
When we started talking recruiting his eyes lit up with excitement.
“It has been great, and a lot of colleges are showing interest,” said Stuckey.
He has been accepted to Nebraska Wesleyan University and University of the Ozarks in Arkansas. Additionally, he has also been in communication with Northwest Oklahoma, Central Oklahoma, Southwestern, and the University of Mary Hardin- Baylor.
When considering where to spend the next few years, Stuckey says he hopes to attend a college where academics are very important as well. “I can get the most out of it academically for my future,” said Stuckey. “I want to be as successful as possible when I get out.”He plans on majoring in Kinesiology.
Current accolades for Jacob include 2nd Team All-District his sophomore year; 1st Team All-District and All Johnson County during his junior year. So far Jacob has compiled 1,000 points and 600 rebounds.
Centennial Head Coach Trovocie Jackson summed it all up.
“He works hard,” said Coach Jackson. “He is smart, he is kind, he is as far from a knucklehead as you can get, and has a kill switch when it comes to competing. Some college coach and program is going to get an absolute gem of a young man.”
We look forward to seeing how he closes out his senior year and we wish him many blessings in his future endeavors.
