Staten Island
Curtis HS
NYC defending champion is in second place in their division behind Susan Wagner (12-2). This year’s team is not as well rounded as last year’s championship team. Currently is it a one-man show led by Samuel Martin. Samuel Martin is averaging 15.0 PPG. 9.64 RPG and 6.29 APG. This postseason will be a tough task as they look to repeat as city champs.
Susan Wagner
The Falcons defeated the NYC champions by 25 this season. Currently, they are at the top of the Staten Island division at 13-1. This run is being led by two stars. Adrian Kopec and Justin Nazon are gonna be the keys to postseason success. Adrian Kopec is leading the team in scoring with 15.0 ppg. The co-star Justin Nazon is averaging 11.0 ppg. After splitting the regular season 1-1 with the defending champs, the falcons have the confidence they can make a run.
Queens I
Benjamin Cardozo is currently undefeated and at the top of their division (11-0). After a devastating loss in the final game last year, they are looking to return to the championship. This season Jaden Dowell and Yiannis Mousios have been the most dominant for the Judges. Jaden Dowell is averaging 14.0 ppg. and 5.5 RPG. Yiannis Mousios is putting up 12.6 PPG. 4.2 RPG. These two will have to stay consistent in order to get back to the title game.
Martin Van Buren is in second place at 8-3. Last season the bees lost in the first round of postseason play. With one of the best scorers in the entire city, there are looking to change that. Omario Atkins is averaging 25.2 PPG. and 12.5 RPG With his leadership, they should have a better postseason this year. The bees also have assistance from Jamier James averaging 10.8 PPG. and 8.5 RPG.
Queens IV
Francis Lewis is at the top of their division after not making the playoffs last season (9-2). The patriots have progressed to a competitive program. The walking double-double Dharion Lopez has led the way averaging 13.6 ppg. and 12.8 RPG. Brendan Lee will have to step up as they get ready for the postseason. Brendan Lee is currently averaging 13.9 PPG. 3.2 RPG.
John Bowne is in second place in the division at 9-3. After losing last season in the first round, they are looking to have a better postseason. Mamadi Kaba will have to lead the way. Mamadi Kaba is currently averaging 13.0 PPG. 2.2 RPG. If the wildcats show up defensively they should have a postseason win this year.
Brooklyn I
South Shore is currently 12-0 and at the top of their division. After losing last season in the quarter-finals, the Vikings are looking to get over the hump to the semi-finals. Zyir Fowler has what it takes to get them there. Leading his team in scoring at 15.5, he should be ready playoff time.
Thomas Jefferson is currently in second place in the division at 9-3. After not making the postseason last year, there are looking to make the playoffs this season. At 27.8 ppg. Antoine Jacobs has been leading the way. The orange wave has a chance to make some noise this year.
Brooklyn II
Brooklyn Tech is currently in first place in their division at 8-1. After losing last season in the second round, there are aiming to have a better postseason. With Jackson Katz on the roster, anything is possible. Jackson Katz is putting up 16.6 ppg. and 16.4 RPG. The engineers just have to follow his lead.
Benjamin Banneker has a solid team this season. The warriors will have their work cut out for them. With Jerick Kirton and Asani Delpeche on the roster, they should make a run. Jerick Kirton is leading the team with 15.5 PPG. & 3.7 RPG. Asani Delpeche does his part averaging 11.4 PPG. and 10.0 RPG.
Manhattan 1
Thurgood Marshall stands at the top of their division with a 9-2 record. This division run was led by Jzhuan Davis and Dwayne White. Jzhuan Davis is currently averaging 25.0 PPG. Dwayne White is averaging 11.0 PPG. Together they should be able to make another run.
Manhattan Center is in second place in their division, with a chance to get into the postseason. Their regular-season success has been led by Mychal Wright and Angel Severino. Mychal Wright is leading the team wit 15.5 PPG and 4.4 RPG. Angel Severino is contributing with 14.1 PPG. & 8.2 RPG.
Bronx III
Kipp NYC is standing on top of the division at 11-0. The Bulldogs are led by Jamir Watson and Mohammed Sangare. Jamir Watson is averaging 17.2 PPG. and 5.2 RPG. Mohammed Sangare is putting up 12.5 PPG. and 4.4 RPG. The Bulldogs have a shot at winning a title this season.
Mott Haven is the runner up in the division. After losing in the first round last season, The mavericks are looking for a better result. The Mavericks are led by Noel Toro. Noel Toro is averaging 14.0 PPG. With some help, the Mavs should get out the first round.
Bronx II
Dewitt Clinton is 11-0 and at the top of their division. This run is led by George Dicent. George Dicent is averaging 14.0 PPG. and 10.0 RPG. The Governors have what it takes to be a city champ.
Roosevelt is currently the runner up in the division. An 8-2 record, allows the bears to clinch a playoff spot. This season was led by Samba Dieye. Samba Dieye is leading the team in scoring with 12.5 PPG. If Samba can take it to another level the Bears can make a run.
Bronx I
Wings Academy is the king of the division at 11-0. They will receive a high seed in the postseason. They have a chance to win a city title. Last season Wings was the only Bronx school to reach the semi-finals. With Ismael Almonte and Matthew Soto, they look to advance to the championship game. Ismael Almonte is leading the team with 14.2 PPG. Matthew Soto is the co-star averaging 11.6 PPG.and 7.8 RPG.
Eagle Academy is the runner up in the division at 7-2. After losing in the second round last season, the eagles are looking for a change. This season has been led by Kimani Walker. Kimani Walker is averaging 14.1 PPG. and 10.0 RPG. Only time will tell if the eagle will advance the quarter-finals.
